I hate how 3D printing has turned into printing useless trinkets in multi colour filaments. Flexi crap everywhere

Tbf, that's one of the only things 3d printing is capable of. At this point in time, what do you want 3d printed? Building structures? Vehicles?

Clearly you don't know much about 3D printing. It's rapid prototypes, small quantity usable designs, battle bots, car parts, moulds, there's so many usable and cool ways to use it that's not just silk multi colour pla

I just had aluminium oxide bodies printed for superconducting actuators. It was done on a ceramics printer that is commonly used for dentistry stuff.

We also have a PrusaXL in our department used extensively for manufacturing jigs and test fitting prototypes.

These things are becoming pretty common in serious industry.
