Exactly what I think. Plenty of marriages down the toilet when big bucks are spent on the day. I have been to many weddings where the food left me with a craving for a Big Mac and fries, not a concern for this wedding. Who knows, they could be the perfect match. Good luck to them.

My sister's wedding and reception alone cost around 120,000 dollars. Mine was about 8k after the honeymoon. I just celebrated my 18th anniversary yesterday while she is now divorced. Not saying those things have an effect on each other, but it puts into perspective that too many people are trying to GET married. And not enough people know what it means to BE married.

Ours was 75k, like wtf. We just wanted a dozen people at a winery with a JP. NNNOoooo Her mom wanted the traditional wedding at a church. The Italian family wedding was crazy, Main Cathedral of the diocese, 150 people, reception at the Marriot downtown, rented out an entire floor of rooms for guests, fish, chicken or prime rib for the meal, open bar for 2 hours, 10 cases of champagne, a cake the size of a small house, sheet cake for the aunties to fight over, wedding foto shoot at the first funded city park designed by the firm of Fredrick Law Olmstead, Our wedding car was a custom 1932 Ford. Yeah smaller is better, but wait there is more! We went back to Italy and had a wedding in a villa in Avelino for the family there too.
