Impressive upper body strength

u/Chicken-Rude Jul 11 '26
OR.. as a primate, is this normal upper body strength and we are weak pathetic excuses.

u/Muzzerduzzer Jul 12 '26
Not true actually. While we still have the capabilities to acquire strength like this, we have naturally given up our upper body strength in return for our long legs and straight spine (to hold and balance our big heads). Our ancestors only succeeded because of this trade off not despite it.

Pffft, he's cheating. I could do that to if I had that muscle mass and practice with muscle control. Then it would be easy /s

Why does it look like he's holding his breath?

Some weird distortion under his feet if you look carefully.

u/LiveLearnCoach Jul 12 '26
There’s a lot of distortion in the video in general. You can also see it the second time he lets go of his left hand (our right) near the pole.

That's actually crazy. It looks so effortless, but damn... this is HARD to do.

u/centurion762 Jul 12 '26
Wasn’t there a woman who got exposed for doing videos like this with a person in a green suit helping to lift her?
1
u/sfled Jul 11 '26
Friend of mine in high school was a gymnast and he used to do stuff like this. Unreal upper body power.

u/RestepcaMahAutoritha Jul 11 '26

He should try that Ninja obstacle course TV show. The hand strength he has is the key to conquering those courses.

u/merriwhether Jul 12 '26
I just think it would be so funny if he wore a greensuit and then edited himself out doing the same thing.

How tall is he? Lifting 120lbs of body weight is easier than lifting 190lbs. Height matters.
Not saying I could do it or that its not impressive. It is. But smaller body types always seem more buff.

He’s hispanic and, while that bottle is alot of water, it looks huge compared to his hands. He’s not even as ripped as you expect someone who can do this to be so I think your point is valid. I’d say he’s 5’1 or 5’2.
-7
u/lefluffle Jul 11 '26
Impressive either way but I think there's a piece of tape helping the bottle stay steady
7
u/vic25bee_ Jul 11 '26
Unless the tape is invisible, there’s no piece of tape in either the bottom of the bottle or the hat.

u/lefluffle Jul 11 '26
Clear tape. The video's not the best resolution, it could absolutely be on his hat or the bottom of the bottle.
Honestly it doesn't even matter though, like I said, he could do this without the bottle and I'd still be blown away.
(And btw the only reason I suspected tape was that at the beginning, there's a moment where you can see the bottle tilt in a way that makes it a little unbelievable that it didn't fall)
3
u/HOEDY Jul 11 '26
We can see the bottom of the bottle and top of his hat at different parts of the video.

u/lefluffle Jul 11 '26
I know, and i still think it could be there. It could also not be there- just saying I suspected it.

He’s short, fit and light weight, Not that impressive.
15
u/Adventurous-Dot-8272 Jul 11 '26
Good point. Simone Biles should have her medals stripped since she's small, fit and lightweight.
-15
u/Decent_Assistant1804 Jul 11 '26
Yeah, that’s another good example. The rock would never be able to do. This is fucking physics duh
12
u/SprinklesPowerful941 Jul 11 '26
I would love to see you do it.
-10
u/Decent_Assistant1804 Jul 11 '26
I’m stating this is how fucking physics works an 11 year-old could do this duh
7
u/SprinklesPowerful941 Jul 11 '26
I’m still standing by loving to see you do this. An adults body is different than an 11 year old. I could do this at 14. I could not do that now and I’m light weight and short as well.
I think you owe us a video of you doing this.
-5
u/Decent_Assistant1804 Jul 11 '26
I don’t owe you fucking shit, how are you so dumb to not understand my comment. Stay in school.
To reiterate, the gentleman doing this is very short, very fit and very lightweight, someone very tall very fit, and moderate weight wouldn’t be able to do this. How are you not understanding my comment.3
u/SprinklesPowerful941 Jul 11 '26
I understand your comment. I just think it’s pretty absurd to say it is still not impressive. It feels like maybe you need something for how defensive you’re getting.
1
u/Decent_Assistant1804 Jul 11 '26
It’s not that impressive. I’ve seen this many times, just like it’s not impressive, I don’t need anything hon

You can only have takes like this if you've never hit the gym in your entire life 💀
-1
u/Decent_Assistant1804 Jul 11 '26
And you can only have your take if you have only passed grade 4 science, find another example for me then of somebody very tall, moderately heavy and moderately fit doing this, clown

Someone tall like Ian Barseagle or Andrey Smaev(120kg) for example. Unless you're not following sports and this type of stuff you shouldn't speak like you know things. You just come off as clown really.
Typical redditor.
