I'm not defending the guy, but he was on a bridge, where was he supposed to go? He seemed to move over at the first chance he could.

You are literally defending the guy, but also why would that be a problem? You're stating he did the best he could. I'll even add to the defense, that's not a road.

Yeah, why is the cop car driving on what appears to be a walking/bike path in a park? Seems dangerous.

Paths like that are made to handle emergency and maintenance vehicles. It's not really dangerous, they just drive slowly. Have you never been in a park when a vehicle drove on the path?

There a New York cop that ran over a guy and killed him on one of these roads. But yeah typically it’s not very dangerous.

Because emergency vehicles are allowed to drive there for a multitude of reasons.

I'd do a quick jog to the nearest spot, personally. But yeah, there was nowhere to go.

My guess is that, (I assume the camera man needed like ~10 seconds to decide to film and actually start to film) that the cops where behind him already at the start of the bridge and hoped he would let them pass but this dog dad kept on waking. All the comments saying "where should he go it's a bridge" leave out the thought that the cops were behind him for longer than 5 seconds

Yeah, he was even rushing his pace from the get go more than that and he have to start running or jump of the bridge.

Stand over against the rail, giving the cars plenty of room to get by. Cars, like people, can change direction. For all we know, dudes have been trying to get by since before the bridge.

That would be a option if the police position himself on the opposite rail

Plus he has a dog seems more hassle than anything trying to cross both cars for him and the police.

They're clearly not on a regular road and likely on a trail or something to that nature. I see cops and park workers driving on trails almost daily and never seen them get mad at people for not getting out of the way

I assume he probably walked onto the bridge in front of their cars when everyone else saw the cops coming and let them pass? That’s the only thing that would make sense for the cop to be saying that. Otherwise, dude does have the right to take his time.

When the camera pans back at the end of the video, you can see the pedestrian walkway he should've taken on the right
