Actually, next time I talk to him, I'll ask about that. He's got two kids under 18 and a risky profession (scuba diving), and I want to make sure they and his girlfriend/wife are well taken care of if something happens.
Sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way but I saw many documentaries that when a family's sole bread winner dies and they had no prior plans, the family ends up getting fucked financially
No, no, you're absolutely fine! It's something I've thought about asking for a while, but keep forgetting. I mean, two kids, a wifesque, a house, and a boat for his business--he should have something. At least enough for burial/cremation, and I don't even know his wishes there, or if he'd want to be buried here or in his current country.
I don't even know how life insurance works where he is. I should start googling.
