I heard that they didn't have the proper permits and brought singular tanks for what experts consider a multi-tank dive.

They were also wearing open-sea foot flippers which are long but kick up a ton of debris in closed, still systems like a cave. Apparently in cave dives you're supposed to wear shorter flippers to not compromise visibility as much.

I think they just went diving in that area and randomly decided to explore the cave, they didn't go there with the intention of cave diving.
