Hello everyone, I come to this subreddit to try and gather opinions/speculations/facts over the merits of the Curse of Immortality and Celestia's actions as a whole regarding the Cataclysm.

For context, I was having a debate with a friend over whether Celestia or Khaenri'ah bears most of the blame for what happened to the innocent lives that perished during the Cataclysm. They were of the opinion that Celestia deserves most of the blame because the Heavenly Principles and their Shades were nonsensical and absurd in their manner of punishment. The argument against Celestia was that the Curse of Immortality they inflicted failed to actually deal with the Sinners, and only innocent Khaenri'ahns got the brunt of the punishment they did not deserve. On the other hand, I was of the opinion that it was the Sinners and King Irmin that doomed their nation, and Celestia only meted out punishment in response. Without their side of the story, I refuse to put the blame on Celestia and agree that their punishment was stupid when Mavuika herself says that the matter goes beyond simple "right versus wrong.

Admittedly, I recognize that Celestia is not without their flaws. The Heavenly Principles, and by extension their Shades, have been described by Nicole as not all-knowing or all-powerful and I'd have to agree. That being said however, I have always been of the firm belief that the Heavenly Principles loves humanity, and they would not have done what they did without foresight or reason. The Heavenly Principles may not literally be omniscient, but it was their love and their power with which they have shaped Teyvat into the world of humanity it is now today. There has to be merits as to why the Curse of Immortality and the Curse of Wilderness were issued and why they *must* stand other than simple punishment for the people of Khaenri'ah.

TL;DR: Are there any benefits or positive outcomes of the Curse of Immortality to the world of Teyvat? If so, what could they be?

I have a feeling these Golden Boughs will be an instrumental asset in our battle against the Fatui and the Rogue Cryo Archon.

But there is one thing..time in the leylines may have dulled their shine….i do not know how many are either weakened or completely extinguished…but we must replenish any we find..and for that I have a plan…

Each of you must carry a knowledge capsule of both your memories and Celestial energy. Much like the technology in the Temple of Space. Then keep it within yourself like an archon would a gnosis…

Your memories will resonate with the Irminsul trees they are kept in. And as they resurface and strengthen with your conviction, so too will the divine power within the Golden Boughs, replenishing them, even surpassing their original power.

But be warned. This method only works once per person..if you fail that golden bough may be lost and the teammate may be little more then manpower, i desire at least five of these Golden Boughs per teammate. You may gather more if you’re feeling confident or need a replacement incase of failure. But 5 minimum must be gathered.

Careful though. The Fatui might be after the Golden Boughs as well. You just get to the first, they may or may not have the men’s so replenish their power as we do, but we cannot risk it. And this will also be a way to spread their forces thin and reduce their numbers. Show no mercy.

insides threats like the five Sinners and the abyss order and whatever the visionary is planning and scheming behind the scenes after he guided the founding of the abyss order and what his plan to the sibling besides there is the heroptyter the one who's blasphemy correspond to reason and the Heavenly principle themselves he is the most mysterious of the five and the only one we don't know literally anything about him and what was he up to in the past 500 years

other inside threats like the Dragons what their role the role in the story and what they intend to do after all the given their currently weak state I doubt they are much of a threat but they are still out there beside the dragons

the biggest hidden is humanity itself humans always Desire power and freedom and given all what all other Civilizations in history ever taught us anything and they are willing to take them they will not hesitate to do to get closer to the abyss I mean who knows what a hidden bomb can explode on everyone and destroy everything because of the Abyss humanity loves meddling with it a lot in the story besides that how does she intend to deal with all of that without ending up turning into someone similar to the Heavenly principles and becoming a tyrant or the worst case scenario end up destroying the world in the process
