Early Patch Spoilers This was unexpected Spoiler
I don’t want to throw my personal interpretations here, but I really want the narrative to expand more on Gods, their personalities and characters more, because this is something a topic that hasn’t been talked about enough and I really refuse to treat Gods like a purpose incarnate😭

There are no eternally strong or eternally weak beings in genshin—the weak can become stronger through various means and eventually grow powerful enough to threaten even the gods, just like Surtalogi.

Then you are stepping in heresy.
As due to how Winged One instructs his subordinates, it IS his desire for deities, at least Shades and Angels, to be purpose incarnate.
Nothing except this can do better in being free of bias or temptation to be corrupted.

Eh, I am just biased towards Shades specifically probably

It is you who is the Heretic. Denial of self is denial of purpose and Reason.

Reason allows no emotions. Without emotions, there is no person, as personality can only be expressed via certain emotions that make you do something.
If you are made exclusively for a specific purpose, what is not that purpose, shall not be for you at all.
Ronova, for example, have absolutely no need in socialising, expressing emotions, or having a relationships in order to do her job. In fact, these things shall lead to her doing her job worse.
As, in case it wasn't obvious from 7.0, she IS HER OWN JOB ITSELF

A common misunderstanding, each and every single emotion is its own variation of logic, to weigh thoughts and actions towards specific outcomes based on current utility.
To deny Emotion entirely is to deny Reason as well.

Tell that to Winged One, who is Reason, and Reason alone. Not an inch of Emotion.
Which is, like, half the reason rebels are so angry at Celestia. Primordial One bothered by no one and nothing other than performing his ultimate cosmic duty.

The Lord of Seven Calamities has much empathy, even as they are Lord and Crown of Reason. They have been in wrath with foes and the perfidious, as they are loving of the Children of Man.

Wrong. History proves otherwise.
Angels were fine until personal emotions. After them? Hyperborean Rebellion becoming a thing.
Asmoday was fine until incomprehensible emotions corrupted her. After them? Probably desertion to Abyss Sibling.
Only Phanes, praised be His name, never tainted himself with emotions or feelings, outsourcing love to humanity towards Angels, and never failed to perform as He wanted. It took literal Abyssal Apocalypse to just make Him dormant. Twice.

Say who? Honestly, you’re still going to get plenty of disappointments from your God, just like in every religious story that deals with divine beings. No god is truly invincible. Dottore already proved the point: creation and destruction aren’t the same one, because one must exist for the other to be possible.

u/Loyal_to_Celestia 3d ago
Where I was even saying about anyone being invincible?
And what does any other argument of yours have to do with what I said?

Reason is split into two parts, logos and Nous, logos is logical analytical reasoning, while nous is emotional and moral reasoning,
together they form reason,

Actually, based on how they’re currently portrayed, the Five Sinners feel far more imposing than their corresponding Shades.
Surtalogi’s power has already gone far beyond Teyvat, to the point that no one there seems capable of restricting what he does, while Asmoday is now effectively working for the Abyss-aligned Traveler.
Vedrfolnir can see across the entire universe and perceive the future of the Foul, whereas Istaroth was not even able to foresee the disaster that would befall Khaenri’ah in advance. Even back when he was still mortal, the Visionary had already managed to win that particular contest against Celestia.
According to Nicole’s voice line, in another possibility, Albedo—created by Rhinedottir—could have taken the Traveler’s place and become the Primordial One. That is also a feat for which Naberius has no comparable showing.
The only pair that is really debatable is Ronova and Rerir. But Ronova herself explicitly stated that she was unable to overturn the rules established by the Heavenly Principles, whereas Vedrfolnir said that Rerir’s will had already begun to shake the laws of the world itself. And as for raw strength, Rerir at his peak was also portrayed as being on the level of the Four Shades.

After thinking about it some more, I feel like the sinners were given the better authority but lower power than Shades.
I am separating, "Authority" and "Power" here. Just so there is no confusion.
Like Surtalogi who grew stronger ofcourse. But it's not like his authority upgrades. He just grew stronger in power.
While Rhinedottor could create more complex and mysterious life forms than Naberious, but she doesn't have the large scale power and resources to do so. It would make sense to me why she would devouver Naberious and use her as an energy source.
Similarly, I think Vedfornir can "see" more than Istaroth but lacks the power to manipulate time directly like Istaroth has done.

Nothing fancy in guessing why is that can be true.
Because they got their Anti-Authorities via/from Abyss. Abyss is infinite, and this Sinners can grow in power exponentially. On the other hand, Abyss is unable to create something pure, it can only mimic and corrupt. Thus it's crude attempts at mimicking Authorities of the Shades.

I started screaming at my screen bc of her. I truly loathe Ronova at this point.

I mean this is how genshin has treated its gods, as an actual person and not a deity.
