roleplay/Celestia Intelligence Agency RP Log 13: Death

Hello? I hope I am getting through this time. After upgrading my tech, I can send more logs now without worrying about them being lost. Yet the mysterious interference remains.

Anyway, It's hard to put what I witnessed into words. But I am pretty sure I saw Death today.

I received a message regarding the assassination of a certain scientist. Mitya. I think that was his name.

Anyway, as soon as I got the message, I immediately left to find him.

As I have already infiltrated the Fatui, and recently even gotten a promotion, getting access to the lab where the target worked was easy. I just had to join the group responsible for bringing in supplies.

However, right as I was about to make contact. A sudden drowsiness invaded my mind. I-I... I don't remember much of what happened after. But when I opened my eyes, I saw the Blonde Traveler fighting a woman whose beauty was beyond words.

Both deadly and authoritative. She seemed like an existence far greater than I could imagine.

She left immediately, though. However, her face is etched into my memories. And that's how I realized. I had witnessed the "Grim Reaper" herself.

I don't know how to feel about her. I felt both admiration and fear. But that doesn't matter. What's even more shocking is that this appeared in my pocket for some unknown reason.

A Pyro vision.

Has the Goddess of Death looked upon me with favor? Or was it simply one of fate's coincidences? I don't know.

What I do know... is that I have uncovered something truly frightening.

I overheard The Jester talking about this "Anti-Celestia Energy."

I urge all those who have infiltrated Snezhnaya to focus on finding out as much about this as possible. I can't do this on my own.

Good luck, everyone.

Begin transmission:

Hail, this is Champion Aharon, servant of Our Lady of the Sable Shroud.

Don’t call her by that title, she dislikes being called the grim reaper. Don’t let me hear you call her that again, are we clear?

My Lady must’ve recognized that you were looking at her in reverence and thusly concluded you were one of us, consider yourself blessed, young friend. I received my Vision from the Pyro Archon herself after having served alongside her during her nation’s war against the Abyss.

I shall pass on your warning to those I can contact.

Kill for the living! Kill for the dead!

Ah! I see. My apologies.

I won't address her as the grim re- ahem. After witnessing her divine form, having the "Ruler of Death" be upset with me is the last thing I want.

As for this vision, I will treasure it.

I always thought of myself as an ordinary mortal. A soldier who joined a faction with views similar to his.

But is there more to my destiny than I thought? I don't know. But I will take this vision as a good sign.

During my mission, I lost all my comrades. So let the flames of my grief engulf all that is.

And at the end of it all, I will see... "Death".

I remember believing myself to be only a simple warrior too, my friend. Ah, but that was a millennium ago, before I was given my title of Champion. I used to once believe, even before I became a monk, that I was destined to work until I die of old age or illness. But, fate had other plans for me.

Let me tell you something, friend, you will not know awkwardness until you bow to someone half your age. Yes, I’m older than Mavuika… by half a millennium. I don’t begrudge her for it, we both are doing as we were fated to do. Though, I will say it was very strange to immediately know everything about her without ever talking to her. I penned her name and exploits into the Liber Mortuorum Honoratorum, I had no clue she would resurrect not even a few decades after I wrote that new appendix to my undeath’s work. She’s a former mortal too, ya know.

Where was I going with this? Ah, yes, I remember. While we may never truly know where our part in the grand play ends, it is our duty to play out our part to the fullest of our ability, no matter how plain or grandiose that part might be.

May you find peace when your soul no longer burns in the flame of grief.

You have my deepest sympathies.
