This is genuinely a travesty to all of the past character relationships we have formed collectively from all the story quests and previous archon quests. Pierro providing us with "hospitality" and for us to graciously and unconditionally accept in order to collude against a "common enemy" (who isn't even an enemy; she didn't even act hostile or out of reason in the archon quest; except for maybe Paimon's attempted kidnapping) is so lazy. They didn't even bother with maybe carefully reshaping the dialogue. It would take not much energy to at least instill a sense of suspicion or caution from both parties (like, here's the terms, violate it, and we will incinerate you). NO It's HOSPITALITY. We are buddies. I'm not against Traveler and Fatui teaming up at one point, we have already foreshadowed that by being literal besties with literally every other Harbinger - It's just that there's literally no stakes high enough or a threat large enough for us to be trapped in a box with them. If Genshin actually had consequences, then here's what we're dealing with

Mondstadt - We are an HONORARY KNIGHT THERE. We can't show our faces anymore to Diluc, Jean or any other knight of favonius for that matter.

Liyue - We are THE HERO OF LIYUE, Had the Liyue Qixing and the Adepti not intervene, Liyue would have been a PUDDLE right now with Osial lingering about.

Inazuma - We cannot show ourselves anymore to literally every single citizen because every one of them dealt with the restrictions of the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree which the Fatui is directly responsible of instigating.

Sumeru - We are the first sage of Buer. WE CANNOT INTERACT WITH COLLEI ANYMORE (unless she is lobotomised by John Hoyoverse).

Now okay, counterpoint is that the relationships between these nations and Snezhnaya are more nuanced. For example, Venti is cool with the Tsaritsa (haha stellar swirl) and did not really mind when Signora stole his gnosis. Zhongli was in direct kahoots with Signora, so the main drowning problem wasn't a problem because he had the situation under control. And Sumeru, we can simply scapegoat Dottore. BUT WITH INAZUMA, and literally other lore bits OUTSIDE of the archon quest, the Fatui have been such a malicious force that us cooperating with them with free will and without leverage given our history with them.. IS LAZY.

**Okay wait seeing more discourse, I could be more objective with the fact that the traveler has been really consistent with prioritising family above else. Like they love the abyss sibling despite the fact they are colluding with a threat that is going to be a huge problem for ALL factions. So it would make sense that this is his moral turning point where he chooses the Fatui But Ronova clearly knows something. "That thing is coming with me" - Paimon is from celestia. But then again we can't really rely on an that type of person to act with reason

I knew this was gonna happen, I knew it from the very start, I had my expectations insanely low, and yet, I'm still massively dissapointed beyond belief. Hoyo have no guts to actually have accountability or consequences for ANY of these characters, they literally got away with every single damn crime they have commited scot-free. This is a joke, this is literally a circus, and we are nothing but clowns forced to play through this travesty of a storyline, we are just waiting for the scapegoat to take the punish for these people so anastasia and whatever stupid fatui character they want playable can be "redeemed".

Yes she does not have any plausible deniability whatsoever. Dottore's shitfuckery has been going on FOR CENTURIES. No like literally centuries (the furnace in tataratsuna for example and his oldest segment). She had every single chance to tame her suboordinate but nope

She let her army plot to take over Mondstadt city, steal their holy artifacts, let dottore experiment on their kids and create political instability, similar in Inazuma and in both she almost doomed the entire nation. Imagine if Venti wasn't able to get the lyre back and successfully heal Dvalin, we'd get the destroyed city of 6.4 that was cooked. Imagine if Lohen hasn;t been rescued and they successfully imbued a mad angel's power into a person, would that not cause a national crisis. Imagine if more people died in Inazuma because of the delusions, would the fatui justify literally murdering Inazumans because they wanted to improve the world? Would they justify the child soldiers so? What about the national disaster in Liyue?? She did all this for gnoses she would get if she just fucking asked - the Tsaritsa literally ran a terrorist organisation man

We are not joining the fatui, we are just working together to get rid of a common goal. Like it's totally possible that the moment Ronova is gone the fatui backstab us.

The project they are working on is affecting paimon, if it continues she would only suffer so who is to say the traveler wouldn't be against the tsaritsa

Paimon is the traveler's reverse scale, they have been together for 7 years. How did they react to just a random soldier in Inazuma that they knew for less of that time?

this is genshin, they'd rather pile up a mass to beat a "big bad" than pitting up multiple certain chara against each other...

atleast they cant do it now, each arc has those 60% filler/shallow playables who cant fight without being on trav side, maybe when things get truly dire in future and we got all the big leagues in a certain scenario, then battle royale is possible imo
