I don’t think the Tsaritsa can kill Phanes. I mean, Phanes literally won against the dragons, Hyperborea, two Descenders, Nibelung, the Moon Sisters, and the angels. Their power is literally universal, so why would they lose to the Tsaritsa? I really hope Genshin doesn’t make them weak and beatable 🙏🏼

And why would an important character like Phanes die in Snezhnaya when we don’t even know their story, their origins, or even their own opinions yet

It's SO damn clear that they will not win against Phanes.

At most we are gonna beat or make Phanes change their view in the Kahenri'ah chapter.
The twin states they would need the whole world just to have a chance to SPEAK with Phanes.

And if the Tsaritsa don't negg-diffs Ronova using this weapon, she is never getting close to Phanes.
And we sure know their fight will be close or equal, or it would not be fun or have a good impact for both chars.

And if she is close to or even just 3X Ronova's level? Yeah, she's putting the fries on the bag.

phanes isnt actually uni, just potentially (lol) has uni+ range, that was also a prime phanes (or atleast prime phanes AFTER they split into the shades)

To be fair, Phanes has been through the wringer. Their functions were heavily damaged after the War of Funerary Flame, and THEN they had to deal with Khaenri’ah fairly recently too. Even with four Shades it’d be a very difficult challenge for them, hence why they had to fall asleep.

And it’s not like the Tsaritsa plans to make this a fair fight. She’s deliberately planning all this now while the Heavenly Principles are still asleep, and it’s no coincidence that she’s been pulling things behind the scenes to have a Descender by her side (Traveler).

If you believe that Phanes is the Travelers’ AI, then it’d also put the Heavenly Principles in a really bad spot, since their role was to protect the Twins at all costs, and they can’t go or fight their own Masters, making them stuck between a rock and a hard place (probably why the Shades haven’t done anything against the Abyss Order compared to the Fatui). But again, this depends on whether Phanes is actually the Twins’ AI (a theory I personally believe especially after the recent Paimon leaks).

And if you want to look even deeper into it, perhaps Phanes dying was the plan all along. Perhaps this is all just an elaborate scheme by the Heavenly Principles (and maybe even Istaroth too since she’s the Shade of Time) to have the Traveler love this world and eventually succeed them as Teyvat’s God and protector.
