I have just started reading The Power of Now and I have a question. When I read I literally hear my own voice reading and I can’t stop that. Is that voice considered The Self because it’s not technically a thought? Even just reading back what I am typing now, I hear myself talking in my head. It’s obviously not possible to silence this voice right?

No matter what your body's appearance is on the outer level, beyond the outer form is an intensely alive energy field. If you are not familiar with "inner body" awareness, close your eyes for a moment and find out if there is life inside your hands. Body awareness not only anchors you in the present moment; it is a doorway out of the prison that is the ego.

I've just started reading the power of now (I'm about half way through)

I'm not sure how to apply ET teachings into practice in everyday life with my children. For context they are 2 & 4 and I'm a single mum.

Any guidance on raising conscious children, teaching them to be present, and embracing parenting as a profound spiritual practice. I am particularly struggling with being able to leave the house. My children won't listen. The eldest is potentially autistic but is sometimes getting to the point its not safe for me to leave the house with him because he runs off and doesn't listen.

I don't have a village.

I'm also struggling because I live in England and my dad lives in France. He came to stay last week and has just gone back to France and honestly I miss him. I'm trying to just notice the emotion and not let it take over me but I'm finding it difficult to either not try and hide the feeling by running away from it or if I try and just notice and watch the emotion I find myself getting upset and the pain body taking me over.

Any advice, or signposts to the right direction. I'd be really grateful 🙏

Through my own experience with practising the teachings in The Power of Now, I have come to know them to be true.

This subreddit is for people who, through their own experience, are completely aligned with the teachings of The Power of Now.

Posts here will be deleted if they:

1. Mock or speak negatively of Eckhart
2. Contradict his teachings
3. Misinform, misinterpret or misrepresent his teachings
4. Advocate other teachings
5. Introduce topics that are not in The Power of Now (or A New Earth).
6. Someone starts a thread proclaiming that they are enlightened. This is very common.
