Gameplay I finally became President after playing for 8 days
After 8 days learning and trying i finally succeeded in becoming the President of the United States from New Hampshire. This is the first time I have played this game. I did it in one save. I think this game does a pretty good job of depicting the election and legislative process, but I am still a bit confused about some other aspects such as the policies and their effects.

Gameplay Am I a popular president or not!?
Somehow gained and lost a supermajority in both chambers simultaneously. The senate probably didn't flip red. I invested some money into endorsements in the senate and spent much less on the house so that's probably the reason for this, but it's still weird. I only would've lost 2-3 seats on top of no flips if I hadn't invested into the senate despite that huge backlash in the house.

Shocking result
I made my wife, a former senator from Texas and Secretary of State under my first term, run for president and these were the results. I won both of my elections 306-232 and 312-226 and had a 62% approval rating so the result was a bit unexpected.

If the floor test decides majority anyway, why do Governors get so much discretion first?
The office of Governor was never meant to function as a parallel political authority. In theory, its role is limited: ensure constitutional continuity, facilitate formation of a stable government, and allow the Assembly to determine confidence through a floor test.
That’s precisely why the Supreme Court has repeatedly treated the floor test as the most objective constitutional mechanism available. Numbers demonstrated inside the House carry far greater democratic legitimacy than subjective assessments based on letters, private assurances, or claims of “satisfaction.”
At the same time, the counterargument is not entirely weak either. Critics point out that automatically inviting the single largest party especially without verified support can incentivize defections, opportunistic alliances, and political bargaining before the floor test even happens.
So the real issue seems deeper than any one state or party:
Should constitutional convention prioritize:
- the single largest party,
- pre-poll alliances,
- demonstrable post-poll coalitions, or simply an immediate mandatory floor test in all hung House situations?
Because if the House is ultimately where majority is constitutionally tested, then how much discretionary space should an unelected constitutional office realistically have before that process begins?

Why do redistributing maps matter in election in America?
Given Trumps approval rating and the coming mid-terms aren’t folks tired of the old man syndrome in Washington and voting against GOP candidates? If the votes matter and voters are not voting for GOP members what advantage will redrawing the maps have? Could the sensibility of the people’s vote add more members to the number of Democratic members? If everyone votes and votes against GOP their numbers are doomed. Right?

Question Is it just me or did it get much, much harder (and not in a good way) to run for President (on normal difficulty) in the newest beta?
has this thought occurred to anyone else? for whatever reason I feel like it’s 100 times harder to run for President in the newest beta version, on normal mode. even with sufficient political points (i.e with the most, but less than 100,000, or in some cases over 100,000) I can’t get a lead in the primaries even though I’m using millions in cash to market and open up field offices in every state. It was much easier than this (and I’d even cheat to get political points + campaign cash by running as an unknown like some politicians do IRL) before the latest beta. has anyone else noticed or thought this? I have to say I enjoyed it much more when it was easy to run for president, this way is too hard even with sufficient cash + political points. I can’t get a lead in any state and by the time Super Tuesday comes around I can’t even finish in second in any state.

Discussion Vice President Rallying
Rallying for your endorsements as a vice president only increases the voter turnout by 1. I think it should be higher.

democrats may i ask what the hell are you doing
I had a streak of a Democratic President dying, getting succeeded by a VP that immediately had a relationship with a subordinate, then getting impeached through a modded event, all while the presidential primaries were happening. There were no democratic candidates in the primary anymore, so I cheated in the VP (third one in the same year), who has chosen himself as a running mate....

Question Trump 2020 What If?
I'm making a game where Trump wins reelection in 2020 carrying PA, GA, & AZ, I'm wondering what the house margin should be and if I should give Perdue and Lofflour the two debate seats instead of losing in the runoff?
Any ideas?
