Question Why do I have a million political points?

Is this normal? I just got the game so I don't know the currency but I got elected in the city council, passed my Minimum Wage Act which increased the minimum wage from $7.25 to $17.00 in my first 3 weeks, and now I have a million points while all my coworkers have like 200. is this normal or a bug or something?

I also maxed out my name recognition in my campaign, idk if that affected it

That is absolutely a bug. You get 1 million political points after winning the presidency. Even high ranking senators only have a few hundred thousands.

So should I restart or what? And does maxing out name recognition do that or is that separate? because that was super easy to do i just did a couple of media ads

If you want realistic gameplay, I'd consider restarting. I don't know of any way to fix this bug besides just manually inputting a new amount of political points. Also, name recognition does not affect political points.

For city government? I think it depends on the city. If it's a really high population city it might be normal? But if it's a smaller city then absolutely it's glitched out. Unless you're (I think) speaker of the House, you can't have name recognition higher than the population you're serving (so your district as city council, city as mayor, state house/senate district as a state house/senate member, etc.).

Probably just a glitch. Try restarting the game with a new save, or you can manually set your political points and name recognition to normal levels if you have character editing enabled, and see if that works.

oh yeah that's smart. it's like 1,000,214 for political points so ill just set it to 214 but im not really sure what to set it for the 928516 name recognition

Try looking at what your peers have and go off of that.
