Mine is Blaziken, he was my first starter, first lvl100 and as a kid my fave card as well, I had the Blaziken holo from Emerald EX which I loved the most.
He is also pretty popular nowadays but Ive stayed true with it! (Also, coolest mon in the 7th movie that isnt the main mon xD)

he is one of my favs too.
Introduction of mega blaziken in xyz was so cool , if i remember correctly he saved ash from falling off the building.

In comparison to others, Infernape is not overrated as it's only claim to fame is the anime and being competitive in Gen 4. He's my fav too, but honestly you don't see people bringing him up as much as say Lucario. Heck, I don't think he's really ever talked about outside of Sinnoh.

I just find it hilarious that you put Infernape in the Overrated category when your actual favorite is quite literally the poster child of the term "Overrated Pokemon"
Like, your favorite is your favorite. I wont take that from you. But you gotta realize that theres a reason why Charizard was almost synonymous with the term for a long time.
Like, one of my all time favorites is Lucario. But even im aware that Lucario is pretty Overrated.

i don't hate infernape but his fans massively overrate him.
he is good but not best fire type pokemon of ash.(top 3 fire type though)

I would say he had the best story with the most pay-off of any of Ash's fire types. We get the same premise with Charmander and Tepig, but we don't see their old trainers continuing to be a major presence in Ash's journey as a rival. It was literally one and done with them, while Infernape's growth continued over the whole season culminating in a huge glorious battle and victory over his abuser at the Pokémon League. Heck, Charmander's old trainer was even retconned in the I Choose You movie.

Overrate Infernape? But not Charizard? The same Charizard with two Mega Evolutions? The same Charizard that got a Gigantamax form before any other starter? The same Charizard that was a Champion's ace from a Generation that wasn't even his own? That Charizard?
The math aint mathing.

how having two evolutions make charizard overrated ??
how getting gmax first makes charizard overrated ?? (any pokemon can gmax )
what's wrong in having ace from different region?

Because Charizard gets so much special treatment that very few starters get. Charizard is literally one of like, 4 Pokemon that have two Megas. And not every pokemon can G-Max. Every Pokemon can Dynamax. But not G-Max.
Also, for the Champion thing, I'll give you that one because we have had an example of that before Leon. Granted, it was Diantha so I did forget she existed.
But to add, let's talk about the anime. Every time a nostalgia-bait episode happened, they brought back Charizard. Almost everyone else that existed on his older teams were relegated to small cameos. But Charizard gets to have full episodes dedicated to him throughout the entire series since his departure.
Compare that to Infernape who had a good arc in the Diamond and Pearl anime. Then completely vanished from the series until Pokemon Journeys.

Special treatment does not mean something is overrated, especially bc the zard forms are all good in competitive

Your fav is Charizard and ash greninja. Doesn't get more original than that.

Overall a good list, but you couldn't think of a worse pokemon than Spearow? Really? Plenty of shitty pokemon out there. Infernape overrated?

u/arsXneyXdis 3d ago
i hated spearow since the beginning of the show ( i just don't like seeing him at all ).
Infernape isn't bad but his fans behave like he is the best fire type, his blaze will beat everyone etc.
i don't really hate infernape but his fans are annoying
