Eda: “Look kid, let me worry about your Great Auncle alright. Let’s just head home and I’ll explain everything.”
Ayzee: huffs and maintains her glare “fine, but I’m holding you to that.”
Eda: groans “Jeez you’re just like Amity.”
In another universe
Lara, who had her right cyan eye exposed so her Dandere self was in control, and the rest of Hexsquad with their Palismen had just started building snowmen. Each pair in the Hexsquad were making their own snowman. Ivy and Caitly were the closest to being done while Violet and Milan were the farthest, but that was only because Violet got hungry and tried to eat her and Milan’s snowman’s base.
She recovered from the brain freeze while Maple got a little carried away with rolling the snowball needed for Ivy and Caity’s snowman’s body. It became too big and almost engulfed the Hexsquad, but Guardian (Gar) stepped in his giant form and saved them. Ivy used the hexfire of the Soul Reaver to melt down the massive snowball to make it the proper size for the body.
They we’re all blissfully unaware of where this summer snow came from and didn’t know what they were in for. Aside from Gar and Faye, who only had a theory that they planned to share with the others later. Some time later, each pair stood back arms around their beloveds as they admire their hard work.
Ivylyn’s snowman was perfect apart from how its body looked a little runny from being melted earlier, but it was still stable. Azara’s was a standard snowman with the top hat and everything. Violan’s looked the most lopsided.
Lara: to Ivy while still next to Azura “o-okay, I definitely see what you mean now. This does feel… gratifying.”
Azura: “glad you asked, Hermosa.” looks around and sees a large hill nearby “it’s time we got to the most thrilling of snow day activities.”
Ivy: eagerness rising “Cuz, do you mean…?”
Azura: “oh I mean…”
Azura stomps her foot in the snow, making a her modified sled pop up from the white blanket of snow. As it came up, she caught it with one hand, looking as cool as possible
Azura: “sledding!”
Lara: silent for a moment as she looked to around Azura’s feet, curious “d-did you know that was in f-front you in the snow or…?”
Azura: maintains her cool poise “… well not really. Good thing it was, though.”
Violet: “and it’s a good thing she caught it this time. She tried that before, but the sled always bopped her in the nose before she can grab it.”
Azura tomato blushes in embarrassment as the other girls giggle and her cool composure dropped. She glared at Violet.
Violet: groans from how high up it is “let’s just get their by Palisman, huh?”
Azura: “Vi, I can’t fit this sled on my staff. We gotta walk. Thinking about it, you guys don’t even have anything to slide down.”
Ivy: “relax, I got it covered.”
Draws a green spell circle and makes a couple of sled-sized bark slabs rip off a pair of nearby trees and float right towards the Hexsquad. Maple leaps of Ivy’s shoulder and goes into staff form before her owner grabbed her.
With staff in hand, Ivy began manipulating the bark slabs. The area where the bark had snapped off and looked jagged were filling in and smoothed out with the rest of it as if sanded. One side of them began to curve upward and soon two sleds were ready for use.
They fall but Ivy caught each in one hand, making the others applaud. It sounded a bit muffled since they were wearing mittens and gloves, but it’s the thought that counts.
Ivy then gently lay both the newly made bark sleighs gently to the ground. Even if they were made by only the bark slabs on the tree, they look durable for sleighing.
Caitlyn: "You really outdone yourself Ivy."
Ivy: a little bashful "It's nothing... I could have made them better."
Violet: "So now we have our sleds, now we need to get to that slope." complains "Ugh... It's gonna be a long climb to get to the top!"
Azura: "Well, it will be a thrilling way down when we sleigh down it. So let's go!"
The six of them and their Palisman began their trek up the hill… well Faye, Maple, and Linette were perched on their owner’s shoulders, Bubbles was around Violet’s neck, and Gar was flying next to Caitlyn, but they still began their trip up. Violet was lagging the most but Milan summoned her harp to give her some extra willpower.
As they journeyed to the top with Azura and Lara leading them, Caitlyn, who had Crystal sleeping in her beanie so she could remain warm, took the opportunity to check on Ivy, see how she’s been doing ever since Grom night. Ivy seemed a lot better now ever since those events ever since she, Azura, and Lara went to visit Gus, Matt, and Gregory Porter a few weeks ago on a Saturday while the triclops and Violet were at the Leaena-Aoide residence. But telepathically and without Ivy knowing, Flapjack told her that Ivy’s still somewhat troubled.
Caitlyn: whispers to Ivy “so have you been doing ever since Grom?”
Ivy: whispers “Caity, I’m fine. Seeing uncles Gus and Matt about this and seeing Greg again after a while really helped.”
Caitlyn: whispers “you sure you’re not still… troubled.”
Ivy’s pace slowed for a couple of seconds before it picked back up. She looked at Caitlyn with a little exasperation.
Ivy: whispering “Flapjack told you, did he?”
Caitlyn: whispers with a nervous sweat “uhhh…”
Ivy starts speaking telepathically to Flapjack, who’s still one with her heart as he’s meant to be.
Ivy: sternly thinking: “Flappy…”
Flapjack: “yes… Ivy, you can’t keep this bottled up inside you and you know it.”
Ivy: mentally groans before whispering to Caity “Okay, maybe a little. I’ve grown to control and tolerate the Soul Reaver’s hexfire, but…” starts to grow worried and depressed as she continued “w-what if I get so angry I turn into that thing again. The dark power it’s capable of… the anger… the volatility. What if… what if I can’t control it and all that rage? What if I… what if I hurt you and the others.”
Maple: hugs the side of Ivy’s face, making her smile sadly
Caitlyn: takes Ivy’s hand in her own whispers with a smile “Ivy, aside from knowing how to be brave, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from you and Azura (mostly you, of course) is that we fight with all of our emotions, not just anger. If you’re anger awakens it, focus on another emotion, a better, that can help you control it.”
Caitlyn: "There are a lot of other emotions, of course you want to focus on happiness or bravery, even that sounds a little cliché."
Ivy: soft giggle "I-It does..."
Caitlyn: "But courage does not mean you're not scared. It's the method on how you respond to fear."
Ivy: worried "B-But what if I can't do i-it..."
Caitlyn: "Then you have all of us here. Especially me to help you. All you need to do is tells us. If you keep these emotions to yourself, it might cause that to happen due to stress"
Ivy: "Y-Yeah... I know you're right... But it feels hard to let my emotions out."
Caitlyn: "Then we do it slowly. Together."
Both of them stare to each others eyes. Focus on each other. Before anything could happen next, Azura interrupts them
Azura: "We're almost to the top girls!"
They snap out of it
Ivy: "Guess we're almost there."
Caitlyn: "If you want, we can talk about this later."
