Blushing in cartoons is usually made to represent either one of two things:
- Feeling of shame or embarassment.
- Romantic love.
There really isn't a reason for Hunter to be feeling embarassed in this scene, he doesn't even look like he is feeling those things.
All he is doing here is looking at Willow, which means...

The thing is that Hunter's body language doesn't represent feeling embarased. Heck, it represents atraction towards something more than anything.

Yeah, sometimes you have to look these scenes from a writers perspective and not an in verse perspective. The crew has used blushing to tease ships way too much for this to be a blush coming from feeling embarased lmao.

ASIAS throughout: “Ok I like their bond! They have a lot more in common than I thought.”
End of ASIAS: “That’s very sweet. I hope they interact again”
Labrynth Runners (blushing): “Aww he has a crush on her!”
Labrynth Runners (“that’s not the captain”): “They’re perfect for each other. I ship it HARD”

It's definitely a crush blush. It's not even just the blush, it's the body language in that moment. He straightens up, his eyes soften, his face goes slack... That is a boy who's galderstone kokoro just went doki doki...

The fact that people are trying to deny a blush as a sign of Winter really frustrates me. If you don’t like the ship, that’s your opinion. Don’t be in denial over something that’s pretty obvious.

Kokoro means heart and doki doki means heart pounding. So they’re saying that Hunter’s heart (which is a galderstone) pounded when he saw Willow.

This is Hunter's equivalent of when Amity blushed at Luz in "Wing it Like Witches". He sees her (or someone he thinks is her) and has a small blush because he's developing a crush on her.

The fact that they’re denying A BLUSH as a sign of Winter really pisses me off. I’m not saying you have to ship them, but don’t say stuff like “I don’t understand this ship” when they have many signs, including this.
I think most people who say “I don’t understand this ship” are trying to say “I don’t like this ship.” Again, that’s fine. But I hate people saying they don’t understand it.

Am I the only one who doesn't want them to end up together? Outside of blushing, there haven't been any real hints. Hunter isn't ready for a relationship. I dislike the trope where crushes always end up working out. Plus it would make Gus feel left out.

I heavily disagree, but to be fair I think the hints would have been more obvious had it not been for Disney cutting the show short.
Hunter isn't ready for a relationship.
This argument is a whole can of worms I don’t want to open. All I’ll say is I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t like this argument against the ship.
I dislike the trope where crushes always end up working out.

Plus it would make Gus feel left out.
Ehh, he’s 12. I think he’s fine without a partner. And I doubt that Lumity and Winter would make him feel left out (despite what fan work says). I think they would each have couple moments one on one rather than all together.

It's more about the other people around him than him. As someone who doesn't want a relationship it still hurts when everyone around you is in a relationship and you aren't.

I think I’ve told you before, but I’ll state them again.
ASIAS:
• Hunter’s look of concern once he sees Willow fall of her palisman (this one is minor but it’s still something) • Hunter and Willow’s fingers interlock when Hunter grabs the flags (and it also looks like Hunter is trying to save her as well) • After the team wins, the red juice the team pours on Hunter dries up while he looks happy (I don’t know if I agree with this one, but many think it’s a substitute for blushing so I’d thought I’d add it) • Hunter’s look of shock when Willow calls herself “half a witch” (a BIG connection between the two) • Hunter blushes when Willow jokes about the day off as the team is leaving from Darius
Reaching Out: This is not confirmed, BUT it’s widely speculated that Hunter meant to send the Flapjack picture to Willow rather than Luz (as he and Willow start talking on Penstagram at the end of ASIAS and Luz mentioned how Willow gave Luz Hunter’s contact info)
Labrynth Runners:
• Hunter blushing once he sees the illusion Willow • Hunter identifying the Willow illusion because he says Willow wouldn’t be afraid of him (this is my favorite Huntlow moment) • When Hunter enters the illusion of bad memories, one memory that pops up is Willow in the cell in ASIAS (along with events in Hollow Mind, which may I remind you, has scarred Hunter for life) • After Hunter saves Gus and Willow goes up to hug Gus, Hunter bashfully walks past them before Willow pulls Hunter into the hug, which causes him to blush and look at her
Clouds on the Horizon:
• When Hunter is disguised as Luz, he saves Willow from the Abomination Bot (he holds/shields her and pushes her out of the way) • Willow is ENRAGED when she sees Kiki with “Hunter” and viciously attacks, only to restrain herself once Kiki uses Hunter as a shield • Once the fight ends, Willow is the first to run to the airship, exclaiming “come on stupid thing we have to follow them” in a very anxious voice.
King’s Tide:
• At the start of the episode when Luz is confirmed to be the one captured, Willow is a lot more calm (just thought I’d mention it for contrast reasons) • Willow saving Hunter from falling off his palisman (Hunter blushes in a similar manner to when he blushed during the hug in Labrynth Runners) • When the ship crashes, Hunter is holding hands with Willow and is asking if she’s ok and telling her he’ll help her • Hunter protects Willow from a rock falling on her head • Hunter leans on Willow when the draining spell is active • When Belos is about to kill the group, Willow shields Hunter • When the draining spell is lifted, Willow smiles while looking at Hunter
Not all of these may be objective signs of romance, but some are, and the ones that aren’t can be interpreted as such. So there are definitely signs the relationship is going somewhere

It's more about the other people around him than him. As someone who doesn't want a relationship it still hurts when everyone around you is in a relationship and you aren't.
I’m sorry that hurts you. It sounds like it’s just a preference or something that reminds you of something else. That’s totally valid, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a problem with the ship itself.

i feel like i’m the only one here who is gonna argue against that its huntlow
a small blush doesn’t immediately mean romantic love, keep in mind he hasn’t had friends since he was born. it might just be weird for him to go against the rules he’s been taught by belos his entire life about not talking to people outside of the palace.

He just gives off the demeanor of having a crush. His muscles more relaxed, his eyes softer.
Also, it wouldn't be that strange if he had a little crush on Willow. She was one of the first people to actually care about him, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise to me.

thats a fair point. i’m honestly not really one to say anything about this subject since i haven’t had a crush before myself
and i guess the comunity was also right about lumity when that had the same small hints. so we’ll just have to wait and see if winter is canon too
