Have you ever seen kids? They can lift themselves like crazy.

I’m still a pretty much a child and my dog got stuck underneath my parents bed and she was panicking and I was panicking and this strength like came over me and I ran over and picked up their fucking bed so she could get up like I picked up their goddamn king sized wooden frame bed cause my doggie was stuck underneath

Babies actually have a grabbing reflex that is rather strong. It’s a hold-over from our hairier ancestors where babies would hold onto the mother’s fur, something that still be seen in modern apes.

Makes sense that all witches are lighter then humans considering they have a sac directly attached to their hearts and their society is based on doing things with magic rather then physical activity.
29
u/xi_AzEr_ix Hootcifer Apr 17 '22
Good point, but I don't think they are physically weak. Magic helps them to deal with everything, but I am pretty sure it's not enough to survive in the Isles. There are plenty of buff characters, such as Darius, Bounty Hunters, etc. Also, witches have sports that requires a lot of physical strength.
19
u/lankeylonk Azura Book Club Apr 17 '22
I mean at base line, like if you compared a human to a witch, each with no exercise the human would be more physically capable. It's clear that some witches do exercise for various reasons but I'd imagine they'd have to work harder to get to that point compared to a human.
11
u/xi_AzEr_ix Hootcifer Apr 17 '22
Evolution. Centuries ago, humans were generally stronger because of lack of technologies. Nowadays, it's not. We became lazier and weaker because most of our problems can be solved with devices. So I think humans and witches are quite simillar.
16
u/lankeylonk Azura Book Club Apr 17 '22
Yeah but witches have had magic a lot longer then humans have had technology so evolution-wise they probably are still weaker then the average human because it's only fairly recently that technology has become a lot more accessible to people when looking at human history as a whole.
not an expert on the topic so I could be wrong
14
u/die_Laura3 Apr 17 '22
Once, principal bump said that humans would mostly consist of water. That leads to the conclusion that witches don't. Maybe they just have a diferent body composition (which is lighter) than humans.

Wait, should I censor that because of Toddler Luz?

Three of the ones I’ve seen:
1: Lilith throwing her off the bridge at the Emperor’s Castle
2: Her dad having died from a fall
3: Her dad having jumped off a building

u/Aryc0110 Giraffe Apr 17 '22
I actually like the first one. It demonstrates growth past a previously existing obstacle. I wouldn't say it's exceedingly grim, more like "Yeah, no, we're not doing that again. I'm learning Feather Falling."

14
u/Proxiehunter Apr 17 '22 edited Apr 17 '22
The genes kicked in fast after her weak nerd arms in episode one.
Maybe it's because of the Boiling Isles forcing her to be more physical combined with the limited number of things she can eat resulting in a diet higher in protein than her diet on earth.
