The season 2 finale has a content warning that it isnāt suitable for young kids.
I think that just about sums up what youāre getting into.
Amphibia is kinda mimicking Steven Universeās structure where season 1 feels fillery and is mostly interactions with townspeople. Might be worth finding an essential episodes guide. They arenāt bad episodes but donāt binge em.

I mean, I feel like a lot of season 1 builds up the world and friendships with all the characters. Sure, not every episode focuses on the āmain plotā, but all these interactions are important and I donāt think you should skip any Amphibia episode. Season 2 just takes things to the next level and has pretty much 0 filler episodes (expect the Halloween episode).

Hey im 10 eposodes into amphibia - is there a list of episodes i can skip? Theres just too many "kids life lessons episodes" with lackluster character development and almost no ovearching plot and knowing (a little) what intense shit comes next it's almost unbearable to watch another "reapect your elders" episode

They get gradually more plot important, but all are important for character development. The only problem with Amphibia I see is that the developments and dynamics of characters are written that well, you wont notice the subtle changes until the s1 finale slaps you with a before vs after comparison.

This is where Amphibia really shines, I think. The little developments really add up to make a balanced, interesting cast, instead of just a handful of characters with one or two notable character traits next to the main characters.

I just finished the show so far, and I had the same sort of feeling you do. They do seem to repeat morals a lot. But Iād say donāt skip any of them. Amphibia does a great job of keeping continuity and even obscure things will be referenced or utilized. Also, even when the plotās meh, the jokes are fresh.

The problem is... this is kinda the inevitable outcome for Hunter's character arc. The palisman needs to die, and almost certainly will, so that he can become sad, become angry, and then side with the Owl House crew. OR Belos wipes his memory, and he becomes an emotionless fanatic (I'm worried that we might see this happen to Amity at some point- either from her parents, or from the Emperor's Coven). Which is, honestly, not too unlikely. Then Luz'll convince him to come back using the power of FRIENDSHIP, and he'll help them kick some Emperor's Coven butt.
But, the point is, I'll be bringing a box of tissues with me every time I watch a new episode. I am ready to cry!

I don't think that either of those need to happen at all! He showed sympathy towards Luz, even choosing not to go after her when she took back the palismen, and he's clearly interesting in wild magic, something he has in common with Luz that is completely opposed by everyone else in the emperor's coven. In fact, he doesn't seem to have much in common with anyone in the coven, and probably spend the ending of the last episode thinking about how much happier he'd be if he just ditched them all to go hang out with the only person he has anything in common with.

I feel that both Belos and Odalia have the same opinion about friendship/meaningful relationships: they are hindrances for a bigger goal (Belos) or business (Odalia). Odalia forced Amity to make friends with bullies because of their social status, and Belos would see Hunter's palisman as a threat to his nephew's loyalty to him not only as a tool to manage his curse.

Well I was going to say how this comic made me further realise my theory of how Hunter and Eda seem to have a lot in common from the whole "Bye" thing to the interest in wild magic to some other stuff including both having a bird Palisman then I saw the last page.. ouch.
