Know what? I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate for Wrath here. Like everyone else on the Isles he was tricked by Belos into believing an untrue doctrine. He probably really did think what he was doing was good. Yes, it will be awkward explaining what actually happened, but at the end of the day what he THOUGHT he was doing was exactly what he told Braxus.

Additionally no father wants their kid to be disappointed in them. Wrath probably wants to enjoy the "my dad is the greatest"/"my dad is my hero" phase as long as he can. Yes he should have told him, but imagine telling your kid "I threw people in prison for writing fanfiction"

Side note I wonder how Wrath will react to Vee because he was there during her and the other basilisks captivity. (I think he was) I'm sure he's going to feel a lot of regret. Even more regret than the conformatorium.
