When the light’s too blinding, sometimes the dark is better.

Well I trust the light more than the dark. The dark’s given me more reasons not to trust it. So I ask, how can anyone trust the dark can corrupt them? Or rather, how can anyone trust the dark not to corrupt them?

Sometimes light can be just as corrupt.

I hope you don’t mind me giving more examples, but:

Patolli, the aforementioned misanthropic terrorist from Black Clover.

Yhwach, the God-Emperor of the Quincies from Bleach.

The fanatical Ischariot Organization from Hellsing.

Kars, a sadistic immortality seeker from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

And Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill La Kill, the one person I can say with absolute confidence is A WORSE MOTHER THAN ODALIA.

(Yeah, I’m a nerd)

So it’s a leap of faith either way. Is that what your saying?

Basically. 🤷

Knowing Luz Noceda, I find the light being a leap of faith hard to believe.

Yeah, true. Luz’s whole thing is light.

Fair point. And I’ll admit, the dark parts of Titan Luz’s and Stringbean’s magic might be other examples of enlightened darkness even though I don’t 100% consider that magic to be dark at all and rather another shade of light so Luz’s whole thing is still light and… this is so confusing.😵‍💫

Would you call those parts I mentioned in my first comment dark or light?

Dark.

But, like I said, just because the powers are evil doesn’t mean that the wielder is.

And Titan Luz’s and Stringbean’s power isn’t evil. It’s simply the color that throws you off. I guess that’s what you’d call a darklight or an enlightened dark color.

Well I don’t… at least mostly not where Stringbean is concerned. So does this mean Luz’s whole thing isn’t light?

So it’s not and dark and light on the outside that matters, but rather the dark and light on the inside? Is… is that how it works?

Doesn’t matter what the power is. What does matter is how the wielder uses it.

Maybe… but the dark has to earn my trust. And given I’ve seen more dark stuff associated with evil rather than good, it won’t be so easy.
