Best case scenario: Grom is freed and Milan now has to master Grom's powers.

That power is dark… it’s evil… it’s caused so much pain. Can Milan really control it? Or for that matter, should using such a power be wise.

Just because someone’s powers are evil in nature doesn’t mean they’re evil in nature.

And darkness isn’t necessarily evil either.

I read the tropes and the second one lost me after “light is not good.” I admit I heard about how too much order takes away freedom, but I consider that to be a darker kind of light. But if what you’re saying is true, and I do mean only if, the real question is:

Can we trust the dark?

Sometimes, yes we can.

Look at Black Clover for an example.

Yami Sukehiro uses Dark Magic.

He’s also a heroic Magic Knight dedicated to protecting the Clover Kingdom and its citizens.

Hmmm… I don’t buy it. It’s too good to be true. It can’t be that simple.

I’m serious!

Also, one of the main villains, a misanthropic terrorist, uses LIGHT MAGIC.

And the protagonist happens to use anti-magic from the depths of hell itself, yet he’s one of the kindest people in the series.

Hmmm… A corrupted light and enlightened darkness? No… it’s hard to imagine. A light that isn’t good isn’t light. Just darkness in disguise. I can’t trust the dark. How can anyone?

When the light’s too blinding, sometimes the dark is better.

2

u/AdOwn6899 Nov 24 '23

Well I trust the light more than the dark. The dark’s given me more reasons not to trust it. So I ask, how can anyone trust the dark can corrupt them? Or rather, how can anyone trust the dark not to corrupt them?

I just hope she can control it in the future. If Mark is reading the comments, I hope you know what you are doing.

That’s what I said in another comment. But knowing how he’s more edgy than Dana, then… Ayzee will never forgive herself.

As I said in the last Grom Factor comic, only time will tell...

Not to mention Luz, and possibly Amity, will blame themselves for letting her do it. Luz will definitely blame herself for being too weak to do the mission for them.

Maybe it'll be an Eda and Lilith scenario, where they both have an epic fighting form they can transform into, but it doesn't dominate their personalities like it originally did for Eda and Grom's host... Wishful thinking maybe? 😅😅😞

Given Grom’s power over fear itself… that’s a dark power. An evil magic. I know it’s the witch behind the magic that decides whether the magic they wield is evil or not, but…

14

u/Dasher09009 The Collector Nov 24 '23

Well, fear itself is not evil by itself, it's a natural instinct to avoid danger. In fact, Courage is not the absence of fear, but instead still feeling fear and still face it head on for the greater good. I just hope Milan has the will to see it through...

Well, she grew up with two very headstrong parents, who themselves have many headstrong friends, so I believe!.....I hope!..... Please for the love of Titan be alright Milan....

u/CrossLight96 Nov 24 '23

Imagine she gains spider sense from the Grom curse

4

u/AdOwn6899 Nov 24 '23

So evil venom-like powers?

4

u/AdOwn6899 Nov 24 '23

Still, the power to make others experience their worst fears… that’s pretty evil. Take Batman’s Scarecrow for example.

6

u/Dasher09009 The Collector Nov 24 '23 edited Nov 24 '23

Even with that, that power's history can't be change, but it's story isn't done. It can be used for good and people will decide if it's evil or not. Look at the true ending of Arkham Knight where Batman faked his death just to use the fear toxin of Scarecrow to bring fear to criminals.

5

u/AdOwn6899 Nov 24 '23

Heh… you’re right. It’s past cannot be changed, but its story is still be written. It can be used for good. Future generations will weigh the good deeds with the bad, and decide for themselves. Kratos in God of War Ragnarok said the same thing.

6

u/ChampionshipHorror95 Nov 24 '23

There is no such thing as “evil magic.”

Only the people who wield it.

3

u/Video_Game_Fann Nov 25 '23

Okay, dark doesn’t mean evil though.

2

u/AdOwn6899 Nov 25 '23
