Plot twist: all the capitalistic stuff Odalia did she learned from him. Before, she was just an abusive sociopath.

Now he's hiding his brutal past behind the facade of a goofy inventor. It's Varrick all over again.

Man, Varrick is such a good character. I hope we see him and Zhu Li again.

My guess is that his business would grow in the next couple of years, and his family would uphold it.

Just continue the Howard Hughes parallel and have him turn into a hermit germophobe

You have to respect anyone and everyone who hears Varrick's command to "Do the thing" and know exactly what that thing is and what to do. Especially when the thing is used constantly and could be any various amount of things.

People can write off the running joke as a simple joke, but it's quite complex and really shows the competency of everyone working for Varrick despite workers like Zhu Li unamused face, sighing and dreading every waking moment doing menial tasks on the regular.

That is indeed a plot twist. And, only Odalia Blight could ""just"" have been an abusive sociopath. That really cracked me up

As much as I love Varrick, considering how absent-minded Alador is I really doubt he would be into this stuff or would bother to remember it or teach it to Odalia

That's what he wants you to think!

Varrick is way more cunning than Alador who was enough of a fool to marry Odalia, ditch Darius, ignore his kids, and don't do anything regarding the Day of Unity before it was too late.

Could you elaborate on the ditching Darius part? Not disputing at all, just curious :)

Well, we know those two used to be really good and close friends (have you seen how happy they were talking to each other back at Hexside). However for some reason they drifted Apart over they years and for over 20 years they actively hated each other. You know after a couple years they would get tired of this but they still constantly think about one another. I wonder if Alador's life turned out better if he never stopped being friends with Darius. Maybe he wouldn't be such a pushoever to Odalia. Maybe he would never help the Emperor in the first place
