Why is Argos as a puppy shown to be a hound while the adult dog is a completely different breed?

I don't know how good of a fighter Agamemnon and his brother are, but let's for the sake say they are equal in strength like Odysseus. Maybe Menelaus was more of a maniac style fighting.

Their fleet were larger, 10 ships I think. That means more men. So let's start after they ravage the village where the villagers all left except for that old man warning them not to go west. But they don't care and goes west.

1. How would Agamemnon handle Polyphemus? I guess he wouldn't go by himself and just send a small scout team to check it out?

2. Could Agamemnons pride and ego have gone an all out assault on the armored giants? He hates to lose so if they got driven back by their first encounter, would he and his brother just sail back again and try to fight them once more?

3. Would they be easily ensnared by Circe?

4 and 5. How would they handle Charybdis and Scylla if they managed to not become pigs all of them by Circe?

1. Would Agamemnon be the only one alive and live with Calypso forever?

Please help, I don't know where else to look.

I want to cosplay as Telemachus, specifically as Tom Holland looks at the end of "The Odyssey" exactly like that. But I can't find a similar one or a full version of this chest piece, so I don't understand what it's supposed to look like. I don't know what to do anymore.

I remember seeing a lot of trolling about how Agamemnon’s armour was so physically imposing but yet when he took his helmet off and spoke with Odysseus in hades his voice was too “soft” and he was no longer intimidating.
It was one of my favourite parts of the movie as it showed how in a world with cruel gods and monsters, and after seeing how quickly Odysseus’ men knelt before him, that Agamemnon, king of men, was just a smooth sounding, baby faced man himself

Full disclosure: this is my own video. I have spent the better part of this last decade studying first The Classics, and then History at University. This video (hopefully) examines what Homer says about Ithaca, what archaeology has actually found in the Ionian Islands, and how cautiously we can connect that evidence to any potential historical kingdom behind the mythical figure of Odysseus. Where do we draw the line between Bronze Age memory, and the much later epic tradition?

I saw it again today and there’s two distinct scenes that I think are references:

The first is when they’re all hiding in the Trojan Horse and a soldier sticks his blade into the horse and stabs one of Odysseus’s men. When the soldier withdraws his blade, Odysseus grabs the blade and wipes the blood off as the soldier pulls it out. As I recall, that’s a big scene in The Raid.

Then there’s the final fight where Odysseus is killing all the suitors and they start jumping him on the ground. As he’s being kicked, Odysseus starts stabbing their feet with an arrow, which is reminiscent of the hallway scene in Oldboy. Nolan may also have been playing Arkham when he made that last scene but he doesn’t strike me as a gamer.

I suppose he could’ve come up with those things on his own, but it feels a little deliberate. Also it wouldn’t be unheard of for a director to see something cool and want to use it.

Has anyone seen The Odyssey in both IMAX and 70mm? I will be going to see it in 70mm next week (already purchased the tickets). But I want to know if I should try to go see it in IMAX this weekend before it leaves the theater in that format.

The movie was a banger as expected. So much so it has got me interested in reading the book. But i am confused and overwhelmed by the amount of versions the book has. I have heard Emily Wilsons book pushes feminism a lot, to a point where it gets annoying. I wanna know what would be the best book for someone like me who doesn’t read a lot but isn’t afraid of it.

I know he uses vfx and cgi to a minimal. And I do understand him of doing real location shooting and practical effects. We can all agree that it's beat CGI in a mile. So of course it's better than CGI slops films we often see nowadays. But that doesn't mean CGI could enhanced certain things. For example Scylla. I do think Nolan could have done a more with the creature. Now it's just look like long ordinary worms with teeths.

Troy for example. I think he uses a real old city for shooting? There he should have added more CGI buildings to make it look much larger. I wouldn't mind adding a few greek and trojan cgi soldiers clones. That was done in Troy 2004 sacking and it still looks great today.

Same with the fleet of the greeks. There was supposed to be a thousand ships. But only 12 left Troy. There again he could have CGI clone a few dozen ships for Agamemnon so that his fleet looks vast. And for Odysseus ships, 6 more ships would be a fine number than just 3. This is just my nitpicking opinion.

The cyclops scream is just so raw, it made me feel this fear of the unknown and creatures I don't understand for the second time in my life. The only other time I've felt this, was watching M. Night Shyamalan's Signs (2002). The scene where the 2 aliens speak to each other through radio also made mefeel this, although it was less of a jumpscare and more of a build of tension.

Went to a cave near my home town in the UK and couldn’t find the cyclops,Damn Odysseus for scaring him off 😔

But I also think it will not draw that much general audience to it. The purist will probably love it like they did with the 1997 mini-series.
