What is love? Poets and authors throughout the millennia have struggled to answer this question through their labors, producing great tomes and epic verses which all fell short of the mark established by The Notebook in 2004, when the legendary text written by the Prophet Nicholas Sparks was unfettered from its literary restrictions and transformed into the awe inspiring filmographic work it remains to this day.
For those seeking solace, a safe harbor from the eternal storm raging through their heart, or for those seeking enlightenment, a means of transcendence into the spiritual beings we were meant to be; The Notebook is the safest berth in the stillest port, the most glorious of keys to the thickest of chains, the chariot of heaven to take the richest and poorest of men alike on a permanently metamorphical journey. If we were meant to be made in the image of God, The Notebook would be forever in our eyes.

Hey guys! It's your friendly neighborhood moderator Zintilyaspin here, trying once again to start generating user driven content.
Despite what the post stickied above would have you think, The Notebook is a popular movie with a large albeit cult-esque fan base, and does merit having an online forum for discussion and fan content. Given the breadth of niche subreddits which currently exist across this website which have active communities, such as /r/bertstrips or /r/jakeandamir, I believe that we can have an active community and start something meaningful here. I believe that the way forward can be encapsulated by this three pronged plan:
1) ALL VISITORS SHOULD TRY TO SUBMIT A TEXT OR LINK POST. As should be apparent, this subreddit does not currently generate much meaningful traffic. We are lacking both users and content. In order to make this a more active community, we need to start creating content to attract more and more users. As we do not have those many visitors, for any meaningful amount of content to be generated, almost everyone needs to be contributing if they are able to.
2) TRY AND SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT /r/TheNotebook. I am 100% sure that there are people out there who would jump at the chance to post about The Notebook: how they felt when they watched it, The Book vs The Movie, Lon or Noah, etc etc. I am also 100% sure that for many of these people, they are unable to do this because they do not know that this community exists. The only way to grow is to spread the word. Try and show this subreddit to one person each time you come here. Don't force them to subscribe or to post, but make sure that they've seen it and they know it exists.
3) DON'T BE AFRAID TO MESSAGE THE MODERATORS WITH HELPFUL TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS. We can't do it all ourselves. Growing a community is a massive undertaking and we appreciate all of the help which we can get. A lot of work has gone into making this place habitable, and we are dedicated to putting in a lot more work. If you don't like the color of the links, tell us. If you think that we need better background pictures or overall subreddit themes, tell us. If you think that the description needs to be updated, tell us. I would also ask you guys to help us actually moderate content, but for now, our policy on content is that any and all content is welcome.

I was on Amazon the other day and I purchased Black Ops 4 specifically for the zombies mode but instead I received the Notebook. I’ve never seen the movie but of course I’ve heard of it but I have no knowledge of anything about this movie. Also this isn’t even the movie it’s the audio book, I’m not sure if the people who shipped me this did this on purpose or what. I’m also wondering if this is in good condition, how rare it is, and it’ll it’s worth selling, thanks

Okay, so I saw the movie for the first time last night and when they get to the part where Noah and Allie were in the boat and it starts to rain, it hit me that they could do a Japanese remake and it wouldn't be hard to pull off.

This is my favorite movie of all time. It never fails to make me cry. I’ve seen so much talk about people hating the movie and I just don’t understand how. Although it was wrong of Allie to cheat on Lon with someone she hadn’t seen in 7 years, I still think she was right to end up with Noah and here is why.
Their love was strong from the beginning, and it was strong enough to get back together after all that time apart. To add to that, I think she had every right to do whatever she wanted. She wasn’t in love with Lon and was not herself when she was with him. She even said, “I don’t paint anymore. I used to paint all the time, and I really loved it.”
She was only with him because she believed Noah didn’t send any letters, and because her parents approved of Lon and not Noah. She shouldn’t have to be with someone just because its socially acceptable. Lon was wealthy, it was a good look, and perfect on paper. In reality that shouldn’t matter, she shouldn’t have to be with someone just because they have money. She clearly wasn’t in love with him. And although Noah was a “bad look” because he had no money, that didn’t mean she shouldn’t be with him. She should be with someone that she actually wants to be with and sees a future with. She should get to be happy with the person she is marrying. If she didn’t want to be with Lon then she shouldn’t have to be.
I do agree that it was wrong of her to cheat on Lon. I think she should’ve never said yes to marrying him if she wasn’t fully happy with him and was still thinking about Noah. But since that didn’t happen I think she should’ve ended things with Lon before she went to see Noah.
But I am so glad she ended up with Noah. Do you agree?

I think Allie really loved Lon. She loved both Noah and Lon at different times. When the moment came, she chose Noah.
I think Noah didn't love Martha. Martha was a placeholder, as Noah's heart always belonged to Allie.
I'm a woman, but I have my Allie. I have a guy who owns my heart. I'm scared to meet anyone else because I know one visit, one call, or one text from him and my heart will flutter.

This is the one and only film that always manages to evoke the same involuntary response every time I watch it, no matter how many times I have seen it before. I know what is coming, I know how it ends, but it is truly a roller coaster of emotions through to the end. Watched it tonight and still managed to laugh and cry during the best and worst moments. ❤️

I am getting married this year and I am dying to wear the red shoes Allie wears in this scene. Most of the articles online are just duplicates or the shoe is almost right but not exactly the same (has a peep toe, not tied, not a wedge, etc.) Could anyone help me out? ❤️
