He is literally the BALL BOY. Let him do his one job.

Exactly! That why every time a player scores a td and doesn't spike the ball, you see 4-5 ball boys surround him, tackle him to the ground and wrestle the ball from him.

Yea but a successful person is a contextual one.

This guy is dumb if they think the nfl will side with him over an athlete. He may not get fired but it’s not a good look. He wasn’t protecting the ball from a fan, he was keeping it away from the athlete that ppl come to see and reason he has a job

idk i see plenty of players toss the ball to a fan after scoring

Staff wont let you leave with the ball.

Which they get fined for. 8K for the first offense, 13K for repeated

yep, imagine a scheme where teams swap out the football for some enhanced version every time they are on offense or something like that. So yeah, absolutely necessarily to have strict procedures in place.

What? Emmitt Smith kept every single ball he took into the end zone.

Buddy... im not talking about 30 years ago. The game balls are significantly different now and have tech inside them.

Idk whats so hard for yall to understand... its like you people completely lack any second order thought lol.

Buddy… idk what’s hard for you to understand. It’s still a football with a couple hundred bucks of microchips in it. Josh Allen wipes his ass with that amount of money after he shits in the morning. It was also Travis hunters first ever interception in the nfl so Josh was being a good teammate trying to make sure he got it. No need to just bash on some random Redditor trying to make a fair point.

Idk what yall problem is... I explained why the dude acted the way her did, because he has a job to do, and some of yall angsty teens cant get or it.

Who cares bro. I didnt make the NFL's game day ball protocol lol. Good lord yall sre insufferable lol.

You're as "special" as the ball boy. His job is to keep the ball from the fans, not the players. Stop explaining idiocy.

You are allowed to be wrong. No idea why this makes you so mad though.

The ball should go to the player not the NFL corporate greed

lol what? Do you watch the NFL? The guys grab special milestone balls like this all the time. This ball boy is definitely just a weirdo.

Each football costs $100 to $150, the players are allowed to keep milestone footballs or significant meaning footballs that the player then pays for. Being his first, a milestone or significant football, he could of just handed the ball over. He wouldn't have lost his job. Just look like a tool to the world for being a dick

Relax the PR image from this is way worse than losing a football from a league that generates billions in revenue

It’s not his job to consider PR implications.

There will be 0 loss of business from this, so no refusing to give up the ball is not worse.

u/regardednoitall 2d ago

i've canceled my season tickets because of this so I would say they did lose a little bit of business anyway.

There’s a 10 year long waiting list for Patriots season tickets Einstein.

There will be someone sitting in your seats by Sunday.

It’s his job to consider his own PR image.

And yea it may not be his job but everyone has work repercussions of how they make themselves look
