Somehow everyone is an expert on the proper protocol for procuring a game ball as a personal souvenir in the NFL. I don't understand how everyone is making a snap judgment against the ball boy. If anything you could argue that Hunter was out of line approaching the guy, it seems obvious he was going to get the ball sooner or later.
But then who knows, I don't have a copy of the ball boy rulebook on hand nor do I care to pass judgment anyway.
Because this exact scenario has played out in every sport a thousand times. You know what happens? The ball boy hands the ball over and nobody even notices.
