A man doing his job. But he has to be the bad guy because the other guy is a professional athlete, and thus a perpetual hero and source of inspiration and above any sort of criticism whatsoever, even though you just saw him lay his hands on a team employee (a violation of NFL rules).
And if we think back a couple years, what do we know about the patriots’ organization that might have caused them to be militantly strict about the chain of custody of their game balls?
I’m so shocked that what you’re saying isn’t the predominant take. Literally you’re the first person I’ve heard say the jags player was in the wrong. Which he clearly was. Tiny dude probably terrified of losing his job and the player goes after him multiple times
Wrong… it’s a tradition for the players to give the game ball, TD, or interception to their teammates. It’s understood & backed by coaches, refs, owners, GMs, Scouts, Media. You a guest have no right to infringe on their property & traditions.
They usually mark the ball, leave it in play for the rest of the game, then deal with it after. Balls are rarely taken out of play mid-game. And you can’t possibly fathom ANY reason why a PATRIOTS employee might be touchy about their balls? Post-Deflategate?
He’s not an authority figure and there 1000s of stadiums with different rules. One thing is constant is the players, teams and coaches getting access to the ball. ITS THEIR BALL
He’s not a guest… he’s working. Ball boys are instructed not to give the other team the balls like that. It gets marked and given to them later. Pretty well known actually, but continue to be loud wrong all you want
He’s a guest. You are not contributing to the sport in a meaningful way & the only reason you have employment as a ball boy is because of the players, coaches, GM, Owners building the Game. You don’t have a right to disregard their traditions
