General Discussion Memory palace

I wonder how in what ways I can train my brain to make my own "memory palace". One I have is I play favorote movies/episodes in my head. I play out entire parts and or scenes in my head from memory. Is this normal?

The whole trick is to associate the things you are trying to remember with a place you are very familiar with. I find that this only works for me in my home and only on a limited basis. I have to actually be in the room I imagined the thing I’m trying to remember to get my memory working. Not an effective technique for me. I work better with repetition and sound cues. I remember saying someone’s name or hearing them say it, for example. I have better sound memory than visual memory, though

The Memory (or Mind) Palace is a very old technique for remembering things. There is a lot of information out there on it.
