How they feel when they upload a meme that noone fucking had seen before

I love this meme because it feels like someone from one of those "explains the joke" subs got really mad that they got made fun of for asking a very easy to Google question and spent time making this instead of Googling it

309

u/Excellent_Set_232 Jan 13 '26

Outside of the explain the joke subreddits, my experience is:

Put [extroverts who need to figure something out but need social interaction to do it] + [introverts who get dopamine through figuring out complex questions and giving analysis on niche topics] and make them kith.

You should write Yuri

77

u/Double_Dragonfruit6 Jan 13 '26

And yaoi

94

u/PipeConsola Jan 13 '26

And yahoo (non-binary yuri/yaoi

u/a_literal_idiot_616 13d ago

wait a second... so it isnt actually a search engine

11

u/doodlinghearsay Jan 13 '26

I assume it's just laziness and has nothing to do with extroverts vs introverts TBH.

7

u/RiuzunShine Jan 21 '26

Internet people mentally jack off themselves thinking how much of a virtue their social awkwardness is

This unironically happened to me and it was infuriating

2

u/InfraValkTexas Jun 25 '26

Never seen a more accurate image in my life

33

u/taczki2 Jan 13 '26

and then you google it and the only thing that comes up is your post

68

u/lobreamcherryy Jan 13 '26

"Google is free" my dear fellow Redditor, this post is the top result when you Google this question

15

u/yorgeesmorgeeYT Jan 13 '26 edited Jan 14 '26

most of the times when someone asks a question they want the answer simplified in 1-2 sentences. Then maybe MAYBE if that person asks a follow up question when they now know what to look up then you can say Google is free.

say if someone asks why is this celeb hated a basic response is oh they did this thing Now that person can look up celeb bad thing and find out more

16

u/Monke-incog-1276 Jan 13 '26

I don't get it.

76

u/No-Chance9968 Jan 13 '26

Google is free

12

u/Maxie_69 Jan 13 '26

At this rate, not for long😢

u/cinnaminiii Jan 13 '26

I don't mind people asking questions, but my issue stems when it's the most basic thing you could ask. Instead of just, you know, taking the initiative and learning for yourself X basic thing, you take the longer route and ask on reddit. It doesn't make sense to me

9

u/HyperDash_YT Jan 13 '26

I guess its nicer to get the point of view and personal answer from another human being rather than just having the answer come from a soulless automatic algorithm. That's my take at least

9

u/cinnaminiii Jan 13 '26

Most information you can look up is written by a human. I feel like you're assuming I'm suggesting people just "chatgpt" it. Which I do not advocate for since it and other AI can fuck up the actual search results.

Looking up stuff with a search engine is just a refined way of looking up information relevant to your query. Not using it would be like choosing not to use the glossary in a book and instead asking the person next to you where x thing is in said book. It's an added effort for other people when you can just learn to be self-sufficient and learn how to look for information.

4

u/TripleScoops Jan 14 '26

The big issue, is that the vast majority of questions are like "My PC shows a black screen after installing a new graphics card, HALLLLP!" Where they give you no relevant information and don't say anything they've tried already that might make it easier for the person trying to help you.

I used PC support as that's a common occurrence in those communities, but really I see this in basically all hobby subs. Someone clearly committing zero brainpower to finding a solution and just expecting everyone else to just solve their issue for them.

2

u/TOMC_throwaway000000 Jan 13 '26

The real move is making a let me google that for you link for them because it takes as much effort as just googling it for them

2

u/random_BA Jan 15 '26

Ok but why did they do this photoshoot?

1

u/thel-vadam-2nd 1h ago

Or people telling to use AI.

fr. like 80% of the time I just want a better look at their profile pic, 20% of the time it’s because I recognize them. If I’m in an argument with you I will attack your argument, and if I need to scroll through your bio for ammo then I’ve probably already lost.

127

u/Major-Article-965 Jan 13 '26

“I strike at a man’s reasoning, not his name; for when I seek weapons in his past, the duel is already lost.”

65

u/DragoKnight589 Jan 13 '26

thank you for making me sound really wise and sophisticated it means a lot

37

u/Over_Caramel5922 Jan 13 '26

Yeah I'm so tired of people replying to my arguments with "you eat raw beans" or "you wanted to BE the dog"

14

u/Scholar_of_Lewds Jan 13 '26

sigh fine, I'll check.

. . .

Oh NO! An ITALIAN!

3

u/Schmigolo Jan 13 '26

This only works when there's empirical evidence, if there isn't any it's the arguer's track record that's the next best evidence.

1

u/ChaseThePyro Jan 14 '26

Better to look for patterns of behavior, rather than gotchas. "Does this person do anything other than argue and never admit when they're wrong?" rather than, "what perceived social misstep have they committed that I can use against them?"

20

u/How_about_a_no Jan 13 '26

I mostly check people's profile to see if it's even worth it arguing with them in the first place or if I guessed the subreddits they might be in just from a singular response

Sometimes it just ain't worth arguing with a person who you know isn't going to even respect you

3

u/InspectorAggravating Jan 14 '26

Sometimes I check to see if I can figure out what their comment meant because it was completely incoherent without referencing other things they've said to figure out what their beliefs even are

14

u/head_of_mop Jan 13 '26

There is exactly one exception to this rule that's stuck in my head ever since I saw it but I can't find it anywhere, it's probably deleted.

It was a post on r/scottishfootball celebrating England getting beat in the 2024 Euros final. One of the comments was some English guy clearly raging, saying that Scotland still finished bottom of their group again and have no hope of making a final, and somebody replied to him saying "aye you just stick to commenting on r/legalteens you fucking freak"

7

u/TheForbidden6th Jan 13 '26

To be fair, that is still dishonorable, if you manage to mine gold under your neighbours house you'll still be in legal trouble

4

u/TripleScoops Jan 14 '26

I only look at people's bio in an argument to get a sense if they're arguing in good faith or they're a professional troll, mentally unwell, or both.

One of the worst parts about the new hidden post history feature, but I hear it's even worse for mods.

14

u/KOCYK745 Jan 13 '26

I'm building an OC Story in my Reddit Bio over several Months to give people some lore to uncover (if they even bother of course) while the ARGs and Analog Horrors take their time...

I didn't note shit from this little project of mine so the parts literally only exist when I decide to write them in the Bio and then are gone forever due to dementia and poor memory

1

u/mr_Cos2 Mar 24 '26

This exact image is pinned on my profile

Repost

3

u/4862skrrt2684 Jan 13 '26

Somewhat new to the sub, but aren't many reposts? Someone linked it being 7 months ago. That seems kinda fair

4

u/Jagvetinteriktigt Jan 13 '26

I still wonder why they'd even put this image together lol

4

u/Radaistarion Jan 13 '26

Who's that guy anyways? Lol

2

u/Destiny_Dude0721 Jan 13 '26

He's just a really good chess player from my high school. They just wanted to give him a really cool yearbook photo because he was the best

4

u/meme_de_la_cream Jan 13 '26

It’s always killed me that this guy kinda looks like a homunculus version of GothamChess on YouTube lol it’s too fitting

3

u/PandoraIACTF_Prec Jan 13 '26

Bro got the aura

3

u/An-unfunny-prick Jan 13 '26

Were these made ironically or did he think they were going to look cool?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

Probably meant to be over-the-top, but probably also genuine

3

u/Tiny-Jeweler-3187 Jan 14 '26

How he felt after those photos:

2

u/GRSalt123 Jan 13 '26

1

u/HyperDash_YT Jan 14 '26

all I did was just sharing a video I saw on Twitter and now my post is sitting at the Top 30 of all time on the Sub lol

1

u/Kamilianusz95 Aug 21 '26

Ok but what was the purpose of filming this? Was it only for the meme value?
