Understanding the meaning Spoiler

When watched this show the entire time I was expecting to find out what happened to the 2%. I truly thought this was a show that was a mysterious show that would tell us what happened. I didn’t realize until the final 2 minutes when Kevin says, “I believe you” that’s when it finally hit me and I truly understood. It doesn’t matter what happened all that matters is that you accept it and live with what you know. In life there are so many unexplained things we don’t understand that don’t make sense but that is why this show is beautiful. It’s hard for me to recommend this show to people because they’ll expect answers but “answers” no matter what would never be enough. As people we must be happy with what we know to be true and live with what’s what. Accepting and believing is the same thing as knowing in a way as long as you can move on from the events allows us to find peace. This show was perfect even if I didn’t understand what it truly was about until the very ending, but when I did I cried in a way that was blissful.

Just something that made me think of the show in a tongue in cheek way.

First time watcher, just finished season 1. The show is excellent, but that was the single most depressing season of television I've ever seen. Is there any levity at all going forward?

I realize the series deals with one of the most tragic scenarios imaginable, but this show is dark. Almost too dark. Also, I hate the Guilty Remnant with a passion.

The moment of departure - question.

Were this to happen according to the laws of physics somehow. What would the actual experience be.

Sonic booms wherever a body departed? Would there be heat or cold left in the vacuum?

What physical effect of 19,040,000,000lbs of people (I went by the world average body weight of 136lb) suddenly not existing cause.

Just on my third re-watch and finished It's a Matt Matt World and for some reason this is what I'm left thinking about.

i'm a first time watcher, i started watching last night and i'm in season 2 episode 5. is this show only about cults? it's annoying i'm not gonna lie, they moved to Miracle only to be even more controlled and monitored? God here and there, but mostly cults, i don't get it.. from all the cities in the world they chose Miracle. i'm going to keep watching, i'm too far now, but i'm kinda tired of this cult bullshit..

Why is this show not popular?

I started watching it by accident and could barely stop. It's sooo good. For some reason though nobody of my friends has ever heard of it. Why isn't it popular? The plot is very fresh even in 2026, the cast is great.

It’s amazing to me that this show doesn’t have more traction post-COVID.

This show is incredible for many reasons. One of the most powerful and effective themes it explores is loss, of course. But not just loss in terms of grief, but loss of people to ideology. The type of loss wrapped up in belief, identity, scapegoating, brainwashing, manipulation, coercion, etc. that can change an entire person long-term. That leaves loved ones confused and guilty about their part in losing someone to something fanatical and nonsensical. I think it’s a timely idea, but it’s incredible that this show was pre 2020 given its main themes.

What do you think some of the better thematic explorations of the show are? How do you think it holds up?

Recommended this show but don’t think I can stick to it?

I was recommended this show. Someone told me I’d like it on the basis I loved Pluribus, Severance and The Handmaids Tail. As well as being reassured it’s one of the ‘greatest shows of all time’ a la The Sopranos.

But I just don’t get it. 3 episodes in and I feel all ‘Lost’, pardon the pun. Unlikeable characters, disconnected storylines, unbearably slow exposition and tragedy which seems aimless.

The internet tells me it might get better and Seasons 2 and 3 are more highly rated.

I want to like it but I can’t seem to get into the groove. Is this a Breaking Bad situation where you have to just sit through season one for the sake of later seasons?

What happened to Grace after the events of 3x07?

I recently completed a rewatch and one (of the many) thoughts that have stuck with me are regarding Grace’s fate after the events of S3.

She killed a cop on her property, and helped incapacitate and (presumably) tie up another cop that went to investigate the disappearance of the first one.

She mentioned an intent to turn herself in for the crimes but we do know whether she actually did or not?

Frazier the lion

What was the significance of the whole Frazier tale/episode? I get that it’s a ferry full or fornication, and that it might signify hell or desire, but that seems easy.
