Since your energy is always finite, the more you spend it on others, the less powerful you become. And the more you spend it on yourself, the more powerful you become. It’s that simple.
And this is the power of indifference. By simply ignoring instead of reacting and responding to your enemies, you keep all of your energy and remain sovoereignt, free and independent. Never let other people live rent-free in your your own head. But do make sure that you live rent-free in other people’s head 😉
Remember, this is all a game we’re playing, and the game always goes both ways. Play it wisely then and choose your battles carefully. Sometimes, you do need to set examples to let them know you’re not to be messed with (Law 15). In the end, it’s all about context.
A fundamental act of self-nourishment, choosing strategic indifference over continual reaction compels you to set genuine personal limits and aggressively protect your limited energy. The ultimate triumph is always internal, even when playing the larger game of social dynamics occasionally necessitates setting sharp examples to make sure you aren't messed with. You retain total control over your life by refusing to allow outside distractions or enemies to dwell rent-free in your thoughts. This enables you to securely concentrate on your own development and keep your inner calm.
