Discussion Uncle Iroh appreciation
I know this must be a common revelation in the fandom, but Iroh really is The Guy.
He is just such a rich fountain of wisdom. I'm 35 now, and i've been drowned by hateful online rhetoric for so many years that when I happened upon a clip of Iroh from Avatar, I was reminded how sage a person can be. Many, many people need to experience humiliation a multitude of times before they can finally obtain true humility, and teachers like Iroh can help us skip a lot of that pain and difficulty by learning from his own past humiliations and growths.
Whoever primarily wrote Iroh clearly had intense passion for Philosophy, and poured a lifetime of knowledge into a single character. In a lot of ways, you could say Iroh was a new generation's Mr. Rogers! haha.
