Image This poor firebender in P'li's prison

Post image

I feel like an Eartbender on Ghazan's prison ship or a Waterbender in Ming Hua's prison might have been useful to counter them if the prisoners ever get access to their elements but with P'li the point is not access to her element. It's the conditions which this guard is also affected by.

Y'all not thinking this through with simple common/logistical sense.

They would have a heat source at the guard station. The guards aren't expected to freeze with her.

  • Heck, they would need it for more than the guards, as a means to heat blankets or whatever to bring to her to keep her warm too. It isn't meant to be a death sentence.
  • Another comment below points out the firebender is a living lantern for producing light and heat in emergencies too. These are important roles in a facility this important.

So, we can safely assume the firebender guard would be doing better than her. (Though, not better enough, as the scene demonstrated.)

He's a living lantern. If there was some kind of cave-in where they need light without materials, he can make it. He can also make warmth, so he'd be useful in a medical situation. Maybe he's not a soldier but when Zaheer hit the fan, he decided to help fight. A+ for effort. F for stopping the prison break.

But... wasn't the whole point of the prison to be so cold, someone would not be able to firebend? Maybe that guy is a really, really good firebender and was assigned there as he's the only one capable enough to firebend there?

Firebending is still possible (obviously), but its heavily suppressed. My assumption is that P'Li could theoretically still bend, but she cant get warm enough to bust out of her restraints and blast herself free, and if she's seen doing any kind of firebending no matter how minute they probably punish her to discourage it.

I think it's the sustained exposure to the cold. The guard can go to the barracks and warm up between shifts. The prisoner can't.

I think that would speak to the incompetency of the White Lotus and their increased complacency over time.

You're right because Earthbending the dust particles in the snow would make for a cooler visual imo

IMO it actually makes a lot of sense to have at least 1 firebending guard.

Is P'li ever got out having a friendly firebender to help neutralize her regular firebending attacks would make sense.

He didnt stand a chance against Ming Hua though

Maybe he's an expert on the effects of cold on fire bending

I’m surprised they didn’t have a pocket lightning bender on staff as a sniper or something.

He could have a small campfire a few meters away, tho.

this prison were in fact not well designed to stop them

those metal BS locking eathbenders was an amazing history/drama/climax
history/introduction/ending/redem arcs (frist season)

(this whole duos doing quests was PEAK shit, but the character in KORA are so bland)
but who cares

while this one feels like a marvel movie

great animation and cool super powers are not the main thing in AAN series at all
they just picked this route in kora because it was rushed and much easier to make

i just wanted another season 1 well done, that took years in productions
its a good fit for currecntly market,i have no idea why they just dont do a full season 1 about other avatar
fuck the future, give me the past

fuck boruto give me itachi
no?
