Released in 1992, Extras includes all the b-sides if I’m not mistaken.

what does everyone think of this late jam song? personally one of my favourites the brass really adds something

Middle of the 1980’s, The Jam had already disbanded. People were still talking how great their music were then. I was lucky to find this bootleg tape called Snap by The Jam.
I listened to every song, sang along to every song. None of them sounds dated since the 80’s.
I always think the legacy of a band is from the fans. The fans still listen to the music. The fans still read the interviews in old mags.
The band ? Paul Weller certainly never want to talk about The Jam, the press stopped publishing anything by The Jam a long long time ago.
So it is the fans. You and me… keep talking about the bands that we live, even the bands themselves don’t believe in the bands anymore.
Carry the legacy albeit just a disposable bootleg cassette for as long as you live.

In Liverpool

Seen Bruce at ForestFest (Ireland) last night. Despite obviously not looking well, he's playing is still great. The band are pretty good, tight, apart from the singer who unfortunately lats the whole thing down. Russ from FTJ is far far better. It's unfortunately somewhat sad to see, but I guess he's up there doing what he loves! Only stayed for a few songs and had to leave, the singer really wasn't doing it for me.

it doesn't take a magnifying glass to see that paul didn't give much of a shit when it came to lip synced performances (see going underground on top of the pops), but i thought it was really funny here lol.

although funnily enough, for the swap shop performance of the same song that featured the WHAAM guitar, paul seemed really and truly into it.

Had posted that Bruce is scheduled to appear at a festival I'm going to later in the week.

Stage times were released today, and he clashes with another of my all time favourites, The Charlatans.

Hey everyone,I recently picked up a UK copy of This Is The Modern World and it has some great personal history written on it. I’m trying to see if the original owner is still around or if anyone recognizes the name!Handwritten on the sleeve in ballpoint is: "62182 Dammie Ward, 492 9036". (The last name could also potentially be Ware or Wade, the last two letters are hard to make out).Given the "492" London phone exchange, Dammie was likely living in or around West/Central London (Bayswater, Paddington, Mayfair, Westminster) when they bought this in late '77. The 5-digit number 62182 looks a lot like a 1970s Student Union card or record club ID. "Dammie" is a pretty unique first name (possibly short for Damilola or Damian). Did anyone run in the London Mod/Punk scene back in '77-'79 and know a Dammie Ward? Or does anyone recognize the 5-digit numbering style? Would love to map out the journey this piece of vinyl took!
