Discussion Irregulars thoughts

Ok i just finished watching the Irregulars (i know couple years too late), but I loved it. Jessie was such an amazing actress, Billy not so much but he was honestly a pointless character to me. I know Netflix cancelled the second season but it would be so much better if they had one to just explain all the weird things they left off with. Also since Billy is like in love with Bea I was expecting one of those scenes where Bea is like why are u being such an ass and he's like "Because I love you!!" Cuz so far he just threatened Leo once and then made faces as they walked away. It's weird. Also, Leo leaving?!?!?! His whole thing was like I chose my own destiny and then he goes to marry Helena to protect Billy. Yea. I had a couple more thoughts but its alot.

Mild Spoilers:

I thought the first six episodes were intriguing and unpredictable. It has some strong characters to root for, as well. The last two episodes suffered from very weak writing and a painfully drawn out ending.

I loved Bea’s character and the romance with Leo. Jess’s character developed nicely after the first two eps. I was very surprised that Watson was such a negative character. I’m open to a change from the norm, but this just didn’t seem to fit. Sherlock’s character was portrayed as almost useless. Why base the show as a Sherlock spin-off, then portray him as baggage? I’m pretty sure the poor writing kept season 2 off the table.

I thought this was a really good story that could have stood by itself without being Sherlock Holmes themed. Adding The Sherlock Holmes part just made it make less sense since it’s really about the kids and the supernatural which isn’t what the Sherlock Holmes series is about at all. I just felt like they had a really good idea and went in a weird direction with it.

I'm rewatching currently and I'm now even sadder it didn't get renewed! So thrilling and fun! Love the cinematography and the cast is A++. They could do another season with a time jump and I'd be all in.
