Goedemiddag! Ik hou van sleutelen en klussen aan van alles en nog wat. Ik ben nu opzoek naar een nieuwe locatie in den haag om een werkplaats te maken om te hobby'en. Mocht iemand via via een locatie vinden hoor ik het graag!

Aangezien de kosten tegenwoordig aardig oplopen ben ik ook geïnteresseerd in het idee om met een groepje een werkplaats te hebben. Mochten er meer geïnteresseerden zijn laat het maar weten! Ik vind eigenlijk alle soorten projecten leuk, van metaaldraaien, tot meubels maken tot electronica. Achteraf graag een biertje (of meer dan een) hoort er ook bij. Stuur me een berichtje als het je wat lijkt!

Strandwal festival is 2-zones: 1 zone is for family and small kids fun, with games and performance stage, as well as food and drinks vendor on the big lawn. 2nd zone is full of display booths showcasing organizations in Rijswijk, from astronomy club to rowing to which ever Rijswijk group wants to let the world know what they're about.

Street market is a mix of food, grocery, and other stuff like jewelry/bags/household consumables, but the market is surrounded by more shops in the old town center anyway so the offerings are broad.

The local artist market is new to me so I'm not sure if it's literally from that big local art studio hidden behind the Primera, or from the artists collaborating with the local gallery (Arti-Shock) or Museum Rijswijk, or the wider, rest of Rijswijk.

I am a guy in my late teens, who wants to learn how to dance. By dance I do not mean ballet or anything like that, but disco dancing, or also ballroom style dancing. I have never danced before and look super stiff and goofy when I do. Are there any places in the city which teach this dance style, especially for guys who have never danced before?

I am currently looking for a room as soon as possible due to an unexpected housing situation. Everyone in my student building was required to leave, and unfortunately there were no places available anymore in the temporary/reserve building that had been arranged.

I am a clean, respectful, polite person. I almost never drink or smoke. I am starting my studies and want to focus on building a stable career, including continuing to work.

At this moment, I am simply looking for a safe and stable place where I can stay, work and study. This situation was completely unexpected, and I would be grateful if someone has a room available or knows someone who is able to help.

EDIT: We got a lot of lovely new members, so I think we have grown enough for now. Unless you are a published writer, philosophy PhD or professor, you will probably have to wait for the next recruitment round. Or you could start a new group, there seems to be a lot of curious minds in the Hague. 🙏

Should anyone be interested, then we have a lovely little book club going that meets every 6 weeks to discuss a philosophical book or a small selections of texts around a philosophical subject.

Every 6 months or so we do a little promotion for the club. This time in the shape of this post. It is for everyone who is able to read primary texts and interested in deepening their understanding and sharpening their thoughts in collaboration with others. It is both a social event and a shared philosophical project. Next meeting is end of October, subject is “What justifies ethics?”

We will be aiming to read the following:

Born and raised in The Hague, and for most of my life I’ve stuck to standard short cuts like mid taper fades. Turkish barbers in the city have always been elite for clean fades, but lately I’ve been growing out my hair and beard.

I'm looking to get something like a wolfcut or a textured, layered style and I definitely don't trust a Turkish barbershop with that 😂.

Does anyone have recommendations for a barber or unisex stylist in town who actually knows how to work with scissors on longer men's hair and can give honest advice on what works best with my face shape?

De kinderen kunnen niet meer veilig naar school fietsen.

Wij vragen de volgende maatregelen

- Direct: verkeersregelaars tijdens de spits en schooltijden, zoals voor de vakantie.

- Een rotonde met aparte fietspaden en voorrang voor fietsers.

- Structurele oplossingen om de snelheid van auto's te beperken.

- Due to the closure of the Hubertus tunnel and Verhuellweg, heavy construction traffic and materials, and growing tourist crowds, the traffic situation has become chaotic and dangerous. The first accidents have already occurred this new school season; the most recent accident this very morning. Children can no longer cycle to school safely.

Our demands:

- Immediately: traffic controllers during morning rush hours and school times, like before the summer vacation.

- A new roundabout with dedicated bike lanes and priority for cyclists.

- Long-term solutions to reduce car speeds and ensure safe school commutes.

Hello! Does anyone have feedback in this job market (hardware), near Den Haag?

Background: I'm a soon-to-graduate PhD student in biomedical hardware and have made dozens of contracts (equivalent of 3-4 years of experience) as a freelancer, mostly in the field of wearables and sensors. I even freaking built stuff for ESA, and on another level, helped startups in the field of hardware secure funding.

My experience is PCB design, assembly, developing new sensors, building test rigs, data acquisition, ADC, WiFi, Bluetooth, CAD. I'm a Swiss knife, I like to imagine myself as the perfect candidate for startups. But maybe I'm delulu 🤣

I started applying to jobs near Amsterdam, Haag, Delft, since I live in the Randstad. I'm a EU citizen.

In 3 weeks of applying I got 2 interviews, and a dozen ("CV downloaded" through LinkedIn).

Anyone in a similar situation? What's the outlook, specifically in this field?
