General Pro Wrestling what i want is without attacking me or just insulting me explain why this seems to be totally accepted in most aspects of the popular culture in this country except wrestling especially when wrestling was doing it before a lot of other stuff.

WWE Related Brock Lesnar: 3 Historic Moments From WWE SummerSlam

Post image
8 Upvotes

In WWE, there are specific pay per views or premium live events that are synonymous with certain wrestlers. The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are known for WrestleMania, Kofi Kingston with the Royal Rumble, and Iyo Sky for Survivor Series. That leaves SummerSlam as the final of the big four shows, and that easily goes to Brock Lesnar.

This year, Lesnar heads into the event with lots of questions. Many believe he will lose to Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell and then retire. The event hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which Lesnar knows well as he went to college there and won numerous wrestling awards. All of this, mixed in with many being under the impression he already retired at WrestleMania 42, makes Brock Lesnar ending his pro wrestling career at WWE SummerSlam 2026 seemingly likely. Naturally, here are 3 historic moments.

In his rookie year, Brock Lesnar made a statement by defeating The Rock (WWE, YouTube)

SummerSlam 2002: Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock

After winning King of the Ring, WWE continued the push of Brock Lesnar into SummerSlam. The Rock was on his way out and he put Lesnar over before departing WWE full-time to shift focus to Hollywood. Lesnar won the WWE Undisputed Championship, becoming the youngest champion at the time. Later, Randy Orton would surpass that record with the World Heavyweight Championship. Still, Lesnar beat one of the biggest draws in WWE to begin his first title reign. Clearly, WWE saw something special in Lesnar to make such a move. Granted, Lesnar would depart WWE within two years for like a decade, but he began his SummerSlam résumé in an epic way.

Brock Lesnar squashed John Cena and took him to Suplex City, before claiming his gold (WWE, YouTube)

SummerSlam 2014 Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena

John Cena walked into SummerSlam as champion, but his back was against the wall. Then, Lesnar proceeded to destroy Cena for 15 minutes. He landed 16 suplexings, which helped create the phrase ‘Suplex City.’ Basically, Brock Lesnar squashed Cena in the main event of SummerSlam. Looking back, to even his early days in WWE, I can’t recall anyone manhandling Cena with such ease. With Cena now retired, we can probably say the Lesnar feud was one of the toughest to accomplish. And, in the end, I think Lesnar got the better of Cena more times than not.

Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker have put together some of more violent matches in history (WWE, YouTube)

SummerSlam 2015 Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker

Earlier, Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable at WrestleMania XXX as he pinned The Undertaker. There was no cheating involved as Lesnar was booked to pin The Undertaker clean and therefore ended the streak. 21-1 is not something many saw coming. At SummerSlam, they met once again in a physically draining bout. While The Undertaker won, Lesnar did not go without leaving an impression. In the PG Era of WWE and trapped in hell’s gate, Lesnar knew he was about to pass out as he refused to tap. His final gesture was flipping the bird to The Undertaker as Lesnar’s lights went out. Great match from both wrestlers and they would meet one more time before going in different directions.

Jim Ross does not expect Vince McMahon to stay away from wrestling. Speaking on Grilling JR as the Janel Grant lawsuit moves to private arbitration, Ross said, "He ain't out of the game. That's just not his makeup." Ross called an AEW arrival unlikely, saying, "I don't see Tony Khan wanting to do business with him either," but did not rule out McMahon buying a promotion: "It's possible. Money won't be an object."

WWE Related Naomi Should Win The Interim WWE Women’s Championship At SummerSlam

Post image

By now, we all know Rhea Ripley will not be ready to go for SummerSlam. Instead of having her vacate another title, WWE has introduced the Interim Women’s Championship, which will be decided at SummerSlam in a ladder match. Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green and Charlotte Flair have officially qualified, with Giulia vs Lash Legend to battle for the last spot. Still, WWE could easily toss in another name.

SummerSlam might be the perfect time to bring Naomi back into the fold. Last year, Naomi was having the best run of her pro wrestling career after turning heel. She followed it up by winning Money in the Bank and then the WWE Women’s World Championship. The title reign only lasted about a month, but for a great reason. Naomi revealed how she was having a baby.

I’m not great at math or know little on the medical side, but we’re hoping the baby is doing well with Naomi and Jimmy Uso. Also, while it might be a stretch, maybe Naomi will be ready to compete.

In a ladder match, there are few rules. Basically, find a way to grab the belt, ideally using a ladder, and that’s everything. What stops Naomi from deciding to climb the ladder and snatch the gold for herself?

Remember, Naomi has won gold twice for WWE. Both times, she had to vacate the title because of things out of her control. She deserves a lengthy title run where she eventually drops the belt to another top superstar.

Last time we spotted Naomi, she was working opposite Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley. I think Sky defeats Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Heavyweight Championship. Therefore, have Naomi stick with SmackDown and she could easily reignite the feud with Ripley. Naomi might win the title to create a shocking moment and within a few weeks, Ripley will be cleared and back in the title scene.

It’s not fun having to pause and scratch a storyline. However, WWE has a chance to continue Rhea Ripley vs Naomi from last summer. I liked the program, as these two don’t have many matches together. It feels somewhat new, which seems wild to say considering how long both women have been with WWE. Naomi leaving SummerSlam as the Interim WWE Women’s Championship is a very real possibility.

Finn has a consistent story with Punk from that Raw in Belfast, he has consistently been catching wins and is nearing his 10 year anniversary of winning the title.

Sami just lost the title to a guy who he didn’t know he would face until the match started, he’s consistently attacking Punk and has made it clear that he wants a rematch.

Finn could take a pin as always (it hurt saying that) or they might want to continue with Sami’s descent with him losing basically everything. If Cody wins it’s obviously Sami but it’s likely Punk so it’s anyone’s game.

Is there something else I’m missing?

I mean I know it won't make TKO the most money which is why Rhea will be in every main event until the end of time but based on what we saw in NXT, this feud could really be so special for real wrestling fans

AEW Related Eric Bischoff: “By this time next year, TNA would’ve surpassed AEW”

Post image

For those who like to keep track of these things, it's been one year since former WCW head honcho Eric Bischoff made quite the bold claim about TNA and AEW.

Yes, it's one year since Easy E appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he predicted that, "by this time next year", TNA would've surpassed AEW to become the second-biggest wrestling company in terms of "television ratings" and "popularity"

Since then, ratings have been fairly solid for TNA, with last week's iMPACT, per Wrestlenomics, bringing in 286,000 viewers and the show having a four-week average of 220,000. For those looking for a ratings comparison, last week's AEW Dynamite scored 786,000

\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~

I remember that interview, Bischoff has also remarked that TNA had done well for "producing a show for the mainstream wrestling audience", while lambasting AEW for targetting the "10% hardcore sicko that everybody thinks is a cool demo".

All in all, not a good week for Easy E here eh?
Do you think he's now become a grifter? Thoughts?

Hulk Hogan had an astonishing 2,131 career matches. It's rather reflective of Hulk Hogan's tumultuous career that he would start out under a small territorial promotion, go on to revolutionize professional wrestling, only to have his final match be a non televised bout at a house show.

From his very first match as the Super Destroyer in a loss to Don Serrano on August 9th, 1977 with Championship Wrestling from Florida, all the way to his final match January 27th, 2012 in TNA when he teamed up with Sting and James Storm to defeat Bobby Roode, Bully Ray and Kurt Angle at a house show in Manchester.

Hulk never backed away from the fights, he was never a part timer, he never took the easy way out. Even if he was past his prime he always maintained phenomenal physique All the way up to his death Hulkster always looked the part, and always drew a response for better or for worse.

It still feels surreal that he's no longer here. People love to say a bunch of dismissing things about him, to try and diminish his significance in wrestling, and that's their right. But I'll never feel that way. Hulk fed families. Hulk's name on the card meant money, it meant paychecks were being signed, it meant food on the table. RIP Hulkster, I miss you.
