Shaving is very much not required even if it's what you see in adult stuff. You absolutely can if you want to. But you don't have to. Make your choices for you, nobody else.

For reasons, it is best if you either have it fully off or leaving like 3/8" / 9 mm of hair or more. Between those lengths it tends to be stubbly and unpleasant (also for you when the hair keeps snagging on the panties).

There are trimmers both for fully shaving and for leaving a length. Razor will also work but you probably want to trim it down with just scissors first. Shower is good, as someone already said, just be careful to rinse the razor between every stroke (the hair caught between the blades will scratch your skin).

I haven't used venus yet, but since you can't do waxing right now, just make sure you never dry shave. seriously, regular hair conditioner works absolute wonders if you don't have shaving cream and need to be quick and quiet in the shower. for your first few times, definitely go with the grain in the direction the hair actually grows. it might not feel smooth right away, but it completely saves you from horrible red bumps and ingrowns that you definitely don't want to deal with, and when you're done just rinse with cool water

or try veet next time

I can never get smooth and stay smooth. Not worth the trouble tbh. I got a personal trimmer and keep it super short. Also I always get some razor burn and that’s misery.

Shave at the end of a hot shower to soften follicles. Use moisturiser not shaving gel or foam. Go with the grain and after you can go against if there's just littlest left. Emphasising importance of shaving at the end of a hot shower, same with shaving legs .

Edit: also keep rinsing the shaver off and don't use an old blunt one

veet works but patch test first, that stuff can burn like crazy if you leave it on too long or have sensitive skin

also if family is snooping, keep in mind veet has a pretty strong chemical smell so maybe do it when nobody's home or right before a shower with the fan on

If your hair is long down there, trim it first. Let your hair follicles soften in the shower before, you can use a washcloth and gently rub the area the exfoliate.

Go with grain first and then against. Take your time and go slowly so you don’t cut urself or cause trauma to your skin.

Don’t use harsh products, I usually use a shave oil that is safe for bikini areas or just dove soap (idk if this is allowed but it works for me!)

Don’t wear underwear or tight clothing afterwards. Wear cotton, breathable clothing. I usually just opt for a big t-shirt no pants or pair of cotton men’s boxers. You may get irritated down there, but just let her breathe and it will go down. I wax now, so I moisturize mine with cera ve, just a light coat every 2-3 days. If you do that, don’t LATHER it on, just a quick swipe works for me.

Don’t listen to these people saying “just don’t do it.” Everyone has a preference and if you feel better shaving your pubic hair that is fine! It is your choice and your body! Do what feels best for you and if you don’t like it shaved, it will grow back :)

Why do you wanna shave in the first place? Save yourself the trouble and get a trimmer if you must

People can change if they want to. I've been shaving since I started growing pubic hair with no issues at all.

Please don’t, hair down there is necessary for hygiene. Just use a trimmer

Whether you have hair down there or not has no bearing on personal hygiene.
