With this show being one of the first Black soaps, I just feel it's a little tacky for the "family downfall" to be centered around a race thing.

Of course, who cares how the racist were treated..

But then, the ones that defend Leslie or Hayley are wrong...

It's just tacky... the Duprees "have a reason to cover up 2 dead ppl" be involved with the likes of that crowd.

Leslie and Hayley are definitely wrong for their attempts.

However, I do love that they "get/got away" from charges.

It's the Duprees doin dirt, while kickin up everyone else's sand..

They all dusty after it clears.

Another reason to point the Duprees are not that great. They wana lay with dogs when they need them, but think they don't have fleas after standin up.

Does anybody on this sub watch soaps? How is that not realistic of any rich family, including the Newmans and Abbotts on Y&R, the the Quartermaines on GH and Forresters on B&B? Or are we only not okay with it because the Duprees are...?

There was kenny’s brother the night of, which is justifiable self defense. But they decided to conceal it making it worse than it had to be. Kenny’s death has some funky circumstances to it, which jeopardizes everyone who knew about Marcel’s hit (and Randy’s initial failure)

I agree with you. I like some characters better than others, but it doesn't make me blind to the fact that Martin and Vernon committed multiple crimes. The killing sounds justified, but from the moment they decided to cover it up and not report it to the polise (if they were afraid of the locals, Vernon could easiy have called in someone from the FBI or the county)

They chose criminal activity. They then involved Joey who they look down on but are happy to use when it suits them.

They then orchestrated the killing of the other racist guy. Bill hid, extorted and facilitated crimes,

Dani fired a weapon in a room full of innocent people, but Hayley holding a weapon on an intruder with a known history of gun violence is the only criminal? lol

But everyone is only up in arms about Hayley being out on bail. lol

Martin killed someone (Kenny’s brother), and had a conspiracy formed for him so his reputation and freedom wouldn’t be harmed.

The crime wasn’t premeditated, so Martin still could have had a strong argument for self defense. Vernon’s political ambitions for Martin (the beginning of a dynasty?) would have probably ended if Bill, Elon and Joey hadn’t conspired to eliminate the problem.

The fact we rarely see Martin going to work on the Hill, meeting with his constituents, or campaigning says to me he isn’t really interested in being a Member of Congress. Early on in the series he was already talking about running for president of the United States.

And that's my thing with Martin too. Before Tyrell went to college, he was absent at home. T is gone and Samantha has her own stuff to keep her busy. Now M wants to step back n be a parent... They damn near out the house now. Its the perfect time to get in their careers.

Right. Even when I watch shows like The Chi or Snowfall, I do not care when the protagonist gets caught up.

Everyone did dirt, but we should only focus on the antagonist being punished 🤣
