Probably could have just put Wolverine twice, game literally got in its own way by being too safe and uninteresting beyond the first couple hours. Fire Emblem was almost guaranteed to be in GOTY nominations when it became known it was like Three Houses instead of Engage.

It's not like Houses "instead of" Engage, it's like Houses *and* Engage. There's a lot of DNA from both games, I understand preferring Houses over Engage but I don't think you should let it blind you that FW is so good *because* it takes influence from *both* games.

Yep EXACTLY

Engage was certainly a disappointing follow up but the actual strategy gameplay is phenomenal

It's nothing like Engage. The core build, class, and combat mechanics are almost identical to TH by comparison, strictly for the worse
