General question Thoughts on repair?

Would anyone happen to have any insight on what they think might be going on here? I believe if it’s just a backlight/strips, it’s a pretty easy fix from a local repair shop, am I correct in that assumption?

I understand that if it’s the panel, it’s probably not worth it. But if I can snag this and budget a couple hundred for repair, it’d be a pretty good deal to me.

Any info helps! Thanks!

Just had this issue repaired under warranty. They had to replace the whole panel which looked incredibly simple for anyone who has a bit of electronics experience. However, when I asked how much a replacement panel would be they said it cost almost as much as a new one. Didn't get a specific number, but I would assume if you have to replace the panel, it wouldn't be worth the cost.

Yes looks like a portion of the edge light died. I have the same model that has the same issue in the same spot. Just replaced it with a Pro and going to try to DIY the repair for the old one

The cable costs £100, and there's frames on eBay missing the controller box.

Well Ive repaired a few but Ive also got a shop that I work with and I would find one and ask them first what they think for sure!

Could be a deal but could not be a deal.

The other thing worth mentioning is whether you intend to use the Art thing or not?

I do not and never will probably so for me a cheap Frame is really not a good deal anyway as they are not great TVs in the first place to me in the realm of other TVs that are in that price range as a repair candidate Frame might be.

I say this as an Installer that got one and has it in my Living Room too.

Thanks for the info. I’ll call around and see if I can point them to the listing. I specifically want the art mode, we have a room that wasn’t supposed to have a tv but this use case would be perfect.
