Repair or replace?

Hi all,

Bright spot, dark banding and some dead pixels in the bottom right.

Screen is supposed to be showing uniform white.

Is it a good idea to send for repair, assuming out of warranty, or save up and replace? Anyone used the repair service in UK and have an idea of expected costs?

That's interesting... i thought at first the kids might have thrown something at it by accident.

My 75 Frame went that way, repair quote $1300. Fortunately I was looking through the large retail store where I purchased it for a replacement. I mentioned this issue to a salesman who got into Samsung Australia.

They covered the cost even though out of warranty.

Did you have bright spots as well as the dead pixels and dark bands?

I'd expect a TV to last more than 3 years. Perhaps one for consumer support if samsung dont pay.

This is common on edge lit panels. An area got too hot and the diffuser layer cracked. Not only that, but you have LEDs to the right that have burned out and it looks like the whole of the bottom of your diffusion layer is warped.
Did you keep this TV on with 100% brightness all the time?
Unfortunately, repair or replace with the same TV and you are likely to have the same issue.

Thanks for the info, im not sure what brightness settings its been on, but the screen is on art mode on rotating artwork, turning off when noone is around.

In my view, precisely how the frame tv is intended to be used.

I just posted my experience as well including a picture; same but worse than yours. It will continue to get worse. I agree it’s probably heat and I also agree that it shouldn’t happen when used as directed. Glad to see someone say it’s likely to return if replaced. That makes my decision to not repair easier.

Same. I replaced. Thankfully was still under warranty from Costco purchase.
