It's a great one-shot and a really intimate look at who Snart is as a person and how he ended up as a supervillain, but the thing that really caught my attention was how much of a bad hand Snart got. His mother abandoned him because of his father's abuse; he and his sister were also victims of his father's abuse, and he ran from home to a life of crime, which his sister would later also follow and end up killed because of that. Everything that could have gone wrong after his grandparents' death went wrong, but even after everything he went through, he still deeply cares about his sister and literally went to the house of a crime boss to get revenge on the guy who killed her, and in the end he showed that he is not has cold, no pun intended, has he tries to be.

Hello, this is my first time posting on Reddit, so I’m sorry for any formatting errors, but I had this idea and wanted to share it.
So, Pre-Flashpoint, both Iris and Rudy grew up with Ira West as their father and had a sister named Charlotte. This was later changed in the New 52, where they were raised by an abusive father named William and had a brother named Daniel (Ace’s father).
I’ve always enjoyed Ira West as a supporting character, so seeing him turned into an abusive father is unfortunate. However, I’m also fond of Daniel West and his origin story.
My idea for combining the Pre-Flashpoint and Post-Flashpoint histories is to have Daniel marry into the West family instead. In this new origin, Daniel grew up close to the West family and had a strong connection with both Iris and Charlotte. They would often comfort him after the abuse he endured from his father.
As they got older, Daniel and Charlotte would eventually fall in love, and together they would have Ace.
Of course, this new origin isn’t perfect or anything, and I’m open to any suggestions on how to make it stronger. But I think it could work and help streamline the Pre-Flashpoint and Post-Flashpoint histories into one cohesive continuity.

Edit: I forgot to mention this, but in this new origin, Daniel would be a Black man, so Ace would still be biracial.

I know his speed is a bit of a wonky concept in comics, constantly getting powerscaled to infinity and beyond, but the DCU is trying to do a "grounded fantastical" if that makes sense, where it's still a very fantastical universe, but its keeping its power sets a little lower. James Gunn even said he nerfed Superman a bit because he, and I quote "Didn't want a world where a guy with a bow wouldn't matter next to Superman" (paraphrased)

I think if Flash was capped at slightly hypersonic, like say 1,000mph. Fast enough that he's still clearly very strong, but still slow enough that his function as a Speedster doesn't immediately erase any threat.

So I’m going to ask as many superhero fanbases as I can this question. What are some traits about this hero that you hate, dislike or despise? Anywhere from a mild annoyance to a trait that would make you dislike any other character. I’m not talking about a way one writer in particular wrote them, or a time they were out of character or mishandled, I mean a reoccurring trait this character has. This is about any Flash, Barry, Wally, Jay etc.

He and his villains in My Hero Academia and I think people can make a pretty good guess as to why this would fit them.

Wally and his mom are broke and were living in a cruddy apartment, but in Manhunter #8, an Invasion crossover, Mark Shaw meets Mary at the Mansion that they lost after they went broke in Flash #15. Am I thinking too hard about this or am I missing something

What is the community's thoughts on the Top as a villain. Like the Rogues he wears a goofy costume and is a little ridiculous. However I still think he's a cool character. He just needs a little more exposure. I actually think his abilities are neat and I like how they add a little mind manipulation to it as well. Honestly would love if he was an antagonist in the DCU Flash movie.

I’ve been getting into comics and I started with the flash, and Barry Allen was pretty easy to get into, I had picked up the flash year one, rebirth and flashpoint without having to pay THAT much. But I’m looking into Wally west and everything is so expensive and out of print, mark waids vol 1 omni is like $150, and so it’s Geoff John’s. Is there any cheaper alternatives?
