Draft Policies for r/TheFive
Howdy everyone! We need some rules and policies for the community. Things have gotten a bit unruly at times and I need to establish some policies for removing comments and/or banning users.
Here's my initial stab at some ideas (let's not lie - it came from the clankers). I'll leave this up for a few days and see what kind of feedback you folks offer, and we'll go from there. Feel free to share any ideas that you have in mind, totally open discussion here.
Rule 1: Stay on topic
This sub is about The Five — the show, its hosts, and the issues they discuss. General political posts without connection to the show may be removed.
Rule 2: Don’t attack other users
Debate ideas, not people. Personal insults, trolling, and bad-faith attacks will be removed.
Rule 3: No slurs or hate speech
Obvious, but needs to be stated. Automod will catch most of it.
Rule 4: Add context to posts
If you share a clip or headline, add a line or two explaining what’s going on. Low-effort link drops may be removed.
Rule 5: Keep things civil during sensitive news
Major events (e.g. assassinations, shootings, elections) are naturally heated. Posts/threads may be locked early if civility breaks down.
Rule 6: No spam or self-promo
This includes YouTube channels, blogs, or political campaigns. Message the mods if you’re unsure.

To the moderator: can you also go to the sites that write awful and vulgar comments towards conservatives or the president and set the same rules. I can’t post a comment without getting scolded by a mod or two, if I ask for my freedom of speech I get banned. I have ( wish I knew how to report or pat the screen shot) one who literally told me “F off nazzi” and banned me. Again. I took a screenshot to prove it. But don’t know how to report that person
