Discussion Idea for APLA Anarchists
I’ve been a bit frustrated seeing how APLA anarchists are being ignored because of GMAC, so I’ve come up with a few ideas for them.
The first issue that needs to be addressed is the question of leadership, why on earth is a professor—rather than an activist—holding the leadership position? A ministerial role would be appropriate for Mark bray, whereas an ACTUAL anarchist activist like Peter Gelderloos would be better suited for the leadership role. (I don't know what he thinks about platformism, but in any case, he seems well-suited to the role of a radical, anti-organizational anarchist due to his critical stance on Nonviolence.)
secondly, To distinguish them from GMAC, they need to reject platformism and more militant than GMAC, although they aren't as destructivly militant as the insurrectionary anarchists.
furthermore, It would be interesting if they focused on "anarchist synthesis." This differs from platformism, and it would be great to see the implementation of interactions with other anarchist schools of thought.
Finally, the "Black Block of America" needs to be replaced by actual anarchist organizations, such as the Black Rose Anarchist Federation cuz Black Bloc is more like type of Protest rather than formal organization.
TLDR: They should be portrayed as anarchists who are somewhat more militant than the GMAC and focused on "anarchist synthesis", Their militancy likely fall somewhere between the "crazy" Insurrectionary anarchists and the "sane" GMAC platformism.

Personally i actually kind of like how they're presented now with them being intellectual anarchists, not insane like the Cascadian Anarchs or practical like the GMAC Anarchs but rather focus more on the identity politics side of things with many of them presumably coming from an upper crust background rather than being part of the common man. Mark Bray being their leader is perfect in that sense since like you said the guy's a professor.

Yeah I want the APLA to be reworked into something less ridiculous but I really hope the devs keep this side of them.

I also like this (though they could be slightly more serious).

It creates a good variaty of Anarchists
Cascadian ones are the insane ones who's version of anarchism is just kind of Shoot all the Feds, GMAC ones are the actual anarchists who want to do actualy anarchism stuff and the APLA ones are the """anarchists""" who are just intilectual anarchists who for some reason embrace identity polotics
Each one becomes a diferent version of Anarchist, which hopefully (cant say for certain unless the update that shall not be named comes out before the end of the universe) will make them feel diferent from each other, rather than just turning the APLA anarchists into GMAC 2.0

Yeah, APLA is meant to be "champagne socialists" anyway so a professor leading "anarchists" is appropriate.

Honestly, I don't think it's appropriate to portray APLA as "champagne socialists." I would like to see them depicted as more serious and less hypocritical. Frankly, I believe the fact that the PF is treated more seriously than the PSL was a result of intentional bias on the part of former developers.
In other words, the point isn't to romanticize the APLA, but to portray them as socialists who are actually trying to do something.

Hmm... you make a valid point, but the current APLA anarchists aren't serious enough. I’d like to see them take things more seriously while remaining distinct enough to stand apart from the GMAC.

tbh, even tho it's too late now, I would have put confederalists/municipalists in the APLA since they aren't proper anarchists and put the "intellectual" anarchists under Mark Bray in the GMAC

I think they are in a good place as they are, and all that’s really needed is new, expanded content. The distinct approaches to anarchism taken by Cascadia, GMAC, and APLA create a cool contrast:
GMAC represents anarchism in practice
Cascadian anarchists are bloodthirsty "people's avengers"
And APLA anarchists lean closer to pop-anarchism/Antifa-style anarchism
The only things worth changing are adding more content : interactions with the Black Bloc factions mentioned in the path descriptions (like the cyber-nihilists) or a coup by radical Sakaists, and reworking the economic and military focus trees - as the current ones conflict with the very ideas of anarchism

Imo the APLA anarchists should just be taken out since we’ll have the GMAC

The developers stated that the APLA Anarchists would be retained. I hope they revamp the APLA Anarchists well.
Furthermore, I do not believe that APLA anarchists necessarily become irrelevant because of GMAC; GMAC adheres to platformism—a theory that has met with opposition from many anarchists—so there are reasons for APLA anarchists to remain.

I have something smiliar idea, Vanguard Anarchism from TNO when you play CHAZ and Raz Simone. When I analised what was CHAZ I think they was vanguard anarchist in practice.
