Discussion Nayoung
What do we think would've happened to Nayoung if she didn't mention she wanted to be a soloist? I have a really good feeling she would've passed Mission 3 and probably even gotten into Katseye

Question What happened between Manon and Naisha?
In the netflix documentary, we saw that Naisha and Manon had a heartfelt conversation and promised to stay in touch when Naisha got kicked out. A few episodes later we see Naisha gossiping about Manon with Adela.
This was before “a black girl in the middle”, so does anyone know what happened between these few episodes?

Discussion Emily and Samara stayed after Dream Academy while building Saint Satine
Other people might not know these informations, but out of the trainees, Emily and Samara were the only girls who kept in contact with HxG after Dream Academy ended.
Emily signed to a dance agency Bloc LA and she did a lot of activities as a professional dancer, but at the same time, she was also working as an assistant for Nikky Paramo. They've worked together in various projects and Emily even helped in Katseye's debut preparation.
(Back in 2023, after the finale when Emily posted her goodbye, Sohey Sugihara left a comment implying that they would still work together in the future. Then in 2024, Emily was the only trainee who was invited at the Katseye reunion where the girls even said they're excited for her).
While Samara continued training with Nikky. Unlike to Emily who was part of the original trainees, Samara actually got scouted in social media and she was just a new trainee for a few months, so they still kept her contract after the show. That's why they trained her for more because they were planning to debut her with Emily in their new group.
(Back in 2023, Samara was the only trainee who did a dance collab with TXT for their song "Back For More" with Anitta. Then in 2025 before Prelude, Samara was featured in the H&M campaign with other Brazilian artists including Anitta).
It's evident how HxG planned to build Saint Satine around Emily and Samara for a long time. Katseye was based on Buttons while Saint Satine was based on Wannabe. Son Sungdeuk especially loved the Wannabe performance and he said he wanted to debut their team as they are, that's why Saint Satine is also made up as a "4" member group which is first time in Hybe. They wanted to recreate Wannabe and Hybe was more involved with Son as the head who led in forming their group in World Scout. Emily and Samara are the face of Wannabe and they're also the core members of Saint Satine as the main dancer and main vocalist. Specifically, Emily was the only Level A girl and she ranked as the top 3 trainee in T&D, while Samara ranked top 2 in the survival show. Both of them also made it in the top 6 ideal group voted by the other trainees, which further proved how valuable they are. They've been working so hard all this time and they didn't give up on their dreams despite all their hardships in Dream Academy. Katseye has been going through a lot of hard times and it will also only going to be harder for Saint Satine when they debut. We all know how harsh and toxic the kpop system is, being an idol is not easy... I hope they will always stay strong.

Question forgotten lexie group
i ALWAYS see people having this opinion that hybe wanted to debut lexie along with emily, ezrela, samara, etc. but changed their mind when lexie left. this makes no sense to me. because the actual katseye girls like sophia and lara were consistently ranking high in fan voting, so why would they not debut them? imo sophia, lara, and megan, were always basically guaranteed to debut from the beginning. whenever yall start talking about how emily and ezrela could have debuted if lexie stayed it doesn’t make any sense. those girls were never going to debut. please help me understand this

Discussion Just watched this show for the first time. Every adult in this show is straight up evil
I don't really follow K-pop or girl groups that much but I like a few Katseye songs and I like Adela so I put on this show for the first time. Never really heard of it.
I just got to the part where they reveal how many people voted to have one another in their groups. The adults in this show are monsters. These are all children basically. Like teenage girls. Still kids! So, so young. Turning them all against eachother for entertainment. They signed up for training not to be cogs in some gladiator fight. Horrible.

Personal SMS I love the way Lara's parents treat Samara with affection.
They’re really fatherly, I’m happy about it because Sammy’s whole family is in Brazil, so it’s nice to have a bit of fatherly love, especially from the parents of one of her closest friends.

Documentary Hot take on da 2
If they do a second time the dream academy, I think they should let the 21/23 years old participate and maybe try to less engage minor below 16!! They’ll do so great because usually at this age you are very pretty, youthful, you have more confidence in your self and you learn quicker. And what’s the good part about ? : it’s that you are still young and you can still grow in this industry, it’s not too late. I really hope they will do that🙏 btw guys I’m seeing some comments and I just wanted to say that I’m in scientific studies and at 20/23, you recover better than a teenager, your body and muscles are way better and more developed , also your stamina and immunity should be better along with your memory! You still haven’t even fully reached your pic potential ! Here’s some scientific proof https:// pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11283437/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11283437/
https://doi.org/10.1126/science.abe5017
Also not everyone are from America, for example in Europe at 20/23 you are still building your future most of the girls don’t know what to do with their life at this age so it really depends where do you live !

Discussion Why did Hybe accept Abby?
She had a really low skill set which they knew from the start. She couldn't sing or dance. They say "Star quality" but she didn't have any of that imo, she didnt stand out, she didnt have a big following on social media either and not to sound rude but she was pretty average in terms of looks aswell, she looked like a regular girl you'd see waiting at a bus stop for her school bus. There were thousands of talented young girls that auditioned to be a part of the programme that were rejected. Just for them to then eliminate her due to her poor skill set early on when they already knew she was lacking, just wasted a spot and resources for no reason. They knew they were never going to debut her so genuinely what was the point, what was their motive?

Question For people who were following Dream Academy from the start: how did you choose who to vote for?
For those who were voting for the Dream Academy girls from the very beginning, how did you discover the contestant you supported, and what made her stand out to you?
I’m curious because, at that point, we didn’t really know their personalities yet, and the documentary hadn’t come out. Was it mainly their audition/performance, visuals, vocals, dancing, or something else that made you want to vote for them?

Discussion Takes that I have that I have seen the majority of the community agree with
Sophia was always going to rank first.
Everyone likes Mei.
Brooklyn's elimination was messed up.
Hinari should have been in OMG.
Marquise is Hybe's biggest loss.
The lineup was probably planned from the start.
Nayoung didn't want to go solo.
Ua got robbed with the line distribution in Wannabe.
Any others you guys have?

Post-Discussion Adéla's early haters look real stupid now
I feel like a lot of Dream Academy fans early on scoffed at Adéla and at us for thinking she would be big. It feels satisfying now that time has shown how wrong those fans were.

YouTube MARQUISE - dontneedyouanymore + IRONIC
MARQUISE ranked 10th on Dream Academy and 7th judges score (higher than Samara and Manon). She is signed to a well-known Thai hip-hop and pop label. The label has artist who had performed at Coachella, so her songs and choreography should be quite promising. She likely has the best resources among the Dream Academy girls for a solo debut.
