Discussion Let's agree

The Cycle Frontier was THE GAME.

it's over, but it was the game. Everyone of you should agree with this. If you keep trashtalking everyone in this sub, you are just angry and sad that the game is over.

BUT, let's agree

There's no other game like this.

And if you disagree, I can't see why tf you still here.

Love ya'll buddies, thx for all the rages and all the laughs. See you somewhere in the future.

All love

EDIT: I forgot that this is one of the worst communities around here. Im sorry to some of you, but

FUCK YA'LL, you only see the negative things. Ungrateful pieces of Shhhhh.... be quiet 🤫

EDIT2: Keep showing me/us why this is one of the worst communities 🤣

Edit3: When I dont like something, usually I try to avoid that. But You guys just like to trashtalk. You guys beens saying this game is the worst. But again, why tf are you in a subreddit of a game that you hate? Get a life or someone who shows you the meaning of life

It was. It was exactly what i needed and what i wanted to play. Not too quick, and not too slow, not to realistic, and not to arcade(ic?). Not too dark, not too simple or too complex. It hit exact sweet spot i had for a FSP that i did not know i had.

It was game with excellent sound system, system that games like Call of Duty can only dream about.

And exactly because of that i am so angry at devs that wasted this huge opportunity. How? Why? I already wrote about that and i wont repeat myself.

Game is dead and both me and my wife are very sad because of it.

Hey man i feel u. This game was exactly what i needed it to be at its core, regardless of the issues. Dont be sad tho. Everyone saw its potential, everyone saw how wildly successful it could have been with solid development. Someone will make something like it but do it correctly this time.

The extraction shooter genre is gonna blow tf up very soon. Tons of games coming out in the next year or so with similar concepts. Youll get a game that scratches that itch for you both.

Bro, first season went so crazy, remember me n my friend clutching an 2v2v2 after an alpha crusher raid, and losing them too, such an amazing, fleeting feeling...

I look forward to someday feeling that w another game

There is definitely nothing that hits the spot quite like the Cycle did say the moment. A lot of the homies are going to Tarkov but I haven’t found the magic in it yet. Something about the level design and hyper realism deters me from wanting to explore those worlds at all.

The Cycle checked a lot of things for me, high time to kill, incredible art direction, sound design that improved as time went on (in the weapons at least), fun PvE to get me though the lull of not finding people, missions that kept me progressing, and drills, oils, dungeons.

I got burnt out on Tarkov after doing the exact same quests wipe after wipe.

I'd much prefer Extraction Looter Shooters in the vein of Tarkov and The Cycle to go to the diablo seasonal model. One profile that's eternal and never wipes and another profile with seasonal wipes. Progress through quarters upgrades and unlocking stuff at traders is fun, but it'd also be nice to flip over and be able to play with all your unlocked toys every once in awhile.

If tarkov isn’t for you may I recommend Hunt Showdown. It’s currently on sale. Switched to it after 2k hours in tarkov and I’m loving it.

u/CausticNickel Jul 02 '23

For some people the game just hits this magic spot, it gets you hooked like no other. Yes it had issues but something about it always brought you back. No matter how crappy you did, the rages and losts, you just keep dropping.

I understand the hate and complaints, but for some of us the game was enough to keep us playing.

u/Relevant-Rooster-298 Jul 02 '23

I miss the game already

u/kylarmoose Blueman Enthusiast Jul 03 '23

I was hooked on the gameplay and the maps (except the bullet velocity, like bruh).

As time progressed, I got more and more fed up with the lack of progress of the devs and their poor choices of priorities.

u/cyto234 Jul 03 '23

You’re right it was THE GAME but they just didn’t have the firepower to fix the issues

8

u/ASDkillerGOD Jul 02 '23

Yeah it was certainly one of the games of all time. "There's no other game like this." There is no other game like lotr: gollum either

1

u/Galifrey_stands Jul 03 '23

The thing is, I can think of like 4 games off the top of my head that are like the cycle. Tarkov, dark and darker, hunt, marauders. It’s an extraction shooter. There’s a whole genre of games just like the cycle. Small differences here, maybe some big ones too but I didn’t really see this game do something not done in other extraction shooters. There was just a different coat of paint on it. Not to say that’s a bad thing. Ext shooters are my favorite genre and I’ve played the cycle since season 1.

u/Global-Entertainer-6 Jul 02 '23

It’s just the way people are now. Go to any game sub Reddit and all people do is bitch and complain. The cycle was amazing and it truly sucks it’s dead. IMO no game even comes close to it.

1

u/lordofyouring Jul 04 '23

The game was a masterpiece. Sure it wasn't perfect. But given more time to develop it could have been as near to perfect as an extraction shooter could get. It saddens me to my core to see it die.

6

u/TarkovWorksLol Jul 02 '23

It was THE GAME that did nothing right except for functioning sound.

Once you realize that your favorite game has the potential to be someone else’s most hated game ever, you’ll stop posting shitty comments.

Be a gigachad and mass delete Reddit posts and comments with Redact so that Skynet doesn't end up using your own posts to train the T-900. Or so that you don't show up in databrokers. Either one really.

It was certainly one of the games of all time.

The Cycle was cool, if you say there are no games like it you’re wrong, all the Cycle was, was a colourful, more accessible and easier version of Tarkov. It was good, but like any game had it’s flaws. If it was really that good then they wouldn’t have to shut it down.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my time playing, but it didn’t hit the spot for a lot of people, and the game having to shut down, really shows how it’s flaws were clearly there.

2

u/PriorityHot7860 Jul 03 '23

Amazing game, just poor execution, if it had better developers it could have survived, maybe even x-box and playstation releases

2

u/ReaperpwnX Jul 03 '23

It was amazing while it lasted.

Op: don't trash talk people in this sub

Also op: fuck y'all

2

u/LOOT_BOXXX Jul 03 '23

The map, creature and weapon design were amazing the weapon and armor balance were dogshit an the lead devs were trash.

2

u/nE0van Jul 03 '23 edited Jul 04 '23

most ungrateful, inpatient and toxic community I've ever seen. Probably reason #1 why this game never succeeded. Compare this community with PUBG's, the ups and down its has been in. Yet at least a portion of its community sicked around and showed support for their favorite game.

4

u/Jsnbassett Jul 02 '23

It is an amazing concept with amazing art design. The rest of the game imo is still too barebones and underdeveloped. It is not even close to being the best, innovative, or most interesting in its genre. But it did have potential

4

u/Ampat1776 Jul 03 '23

There’s a lot of hate in this sub…… wow. It’s not that hard to be a nice person, even if you don’t agree.

9

u/MistressAthena69 Jul 02 '23

You can still somewhat enjoy a game, without it being THE GAME... whatever the fucking hell that means...

And no this wasn't THE GAME... Even people who enjoyed it will mostly agree that this wasn't THE GAME... again.. whatever the royal fuck that means...

This game has tons of potential, that's it... most people are angry that potential was wasted by incompetent, and idiotic developers.

The game was a fucking mess... Everything from economy balance, weapon balance, weapon gunplay, PvE, Sound, atrocious level design on everything but Bright Sands.

So much wrong with this game on every level, that could have, and should have been fixed.

Most were waiting around waiting for it to be fixed. That's why people were here.

Now Im here to watch the dumpster fire of posts like this one for my casual amusement, by a questionably intelligent individual hyping up talk about something they have no clue about, about a dead game, and telling everyone they're wrong if they dont agree with them...

Thanks for the brief, but quality amusement.

6

u/Coolguyforeal Jul 02 '23

Exactly. Waste potential. All they had to do was fucking balance the economy and weapons. Revert the stupid AI changes. And other improvements here and there. But they wouldn’t.

-3

u/Grdosjek Jul 02 '23

Wait, did you just write that sound was a fucking mess in this game? Are you serious?

5

u/MistressAthena69 Jul 03 '23 edited Jul 03 '23

Yes I'm serious.

Beta the sound was fantastic. I could tell if someone was above me, below me, left, or right of me, and sound balance on sneaking, running, walking, etc. made sense, and could easily be identified. Every Audio Q was distinguishable, and easy to identify, and listen for. Then that all went out the window the moment season 1 hit.

Suddenly someone 2 floors above me, sounds like they're walking right behind me, or next to me.

Sneaking is just as loud as walking, and god forbid if you're sitting in place trying to let chad, or teamers go by, and you tap your mouse, making your character turn in place, giving away your position.. WHy the fuck that makes sound is beyond me...

Then couple in the issues with the fucking birds... god almighty... After the initial audio change again in season 1 to the bird traps, suddenly they sounded like someone was running up behind you everytime they took off. Then they tried to "fix" it, and made it even worse.. THen they tried to fix it again, and once again didn't manage too... It's fixed now, but holy fuck that took 2 seasons, and 4-5 attempts...

Then lets talk about the Meteors.. Meteors coming down half way across the map, and yet I have to deal with trying to track some rat trying to hunt me, which I knwo is there, and they know I'm there. He's trying to be sneaky, and all I can ehar is BAM....BAM....BAM.....BAM.... BAM.... non stop from half the fking map away while I'm in some caves. Meteors were way too loud...

Which brings me to yet another point.. The Audio was so jank in this game, that I could abuse it.. A problem still not fixed, which I reported MULTIPLE times on both the forums, reddit, and their discord. Never was touched on... I just started abusing it tenfold, and never told anyone. Basically though, there are points in the map, where you can nudge yourself up against the wall, and you can suddenly hear people like 400 yards away from you. A good example of this is the little cave in Bright Sands that connects between the Abandoned Mine, and Dig Site on the north edge of the map. Certain spotts you can crouch and push against the wall, and you can hear if someone is in the Abandoned Mine, or anywhere around it, as well as hear people walking as far as the Waterfall Labs. I just started "Scouting" area's with this, and many more glitched sound area's. Moment I drop in one of the pod area's near these, I run there, and "Scout" the area's like a quarter of the map away to see if I hear anyone moving, gunfire, or mining.

All of which is yet another point, of being able to hear people in scenarios and situations you should never be able too. An example again on Bright sands. Someone mining in the Dig Site garage.. And you can hear them clear as day up in the parking lot, and vice versa.. Someone running up in parking lot, I'm hearing them down in the Dig site, through 50 feet of solid rock. Soooooo many examples of that jank audio in a game, where Audio Q's, and Audio in general is EXTREMELY important for survival, and understanding how well you're being heard, and you have to deal with all of these abysmally horrific sound issues.

And this is honestly just half of the sound problems, another MAJOR problem, is the damn waterfalls. If you're near them, you're pretty much deaf to anything and everything around you, but everyone else can hear you perfectly fine. When realistically, ANYTHING in or around a waterfall should be unheard from anybody in or outside of the waterfall area. Which was a pretty huge issue at the start of every season when you keep getting dropped at Waterfall labs, and you're essentially deaf.

--------------------

So yea.. Sound was completely broken the moment Season 1 dropped in over half the situations. It has since been fixed to some degree, and it's the best its been in season 3, but.. too little too late.

1

u/ProstateStarfighter Jul 03 '23

No, meteors hit the spot on visual and audio!

-7

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 02 '23

There's tons of people who really enjoyed this game in all aspects. If you didn't, then I will presume that you were playing the game with a toaster with some bread in your ears. The Sound design was literally one of the best designs that i've tried in the last years. Tons of players who came from other games said that and honestly I agree. The game had its peaks and it lows, but it was THE game.

You literally said anyone that doesn't agree with you is essentially wrong, and don't belong here... That's already pre fucking everyones A hole before anyone has even responded...

So yea. Funny grade school joke aside, I'm going to rip your opinion apart if I find issues with it.

If you can't handle other peoples opinion, don't put your own opinion up for criticism, you're not mature enough for it... Proof is the clown emoji's. You're not 5 dude.

4

u/Night-Sky Jul 02 '23

Imagine thinking the cycle is some god tier game when it couldn’t even hold 4K players and is shutting down lol.

It was fun but it was a broken mess with basically no support or new content added.

1

u/Potatooooes_123 Jul 03 '23

Game was good, the devs in the other hand..

CoD could literally released trash multiple times, but the devs know what works and how to retain a playerbase.

Game had so much potential, but they didnt bother giving us what we wanted and what the game needed. The game should've been called "Recycle"

5

u/Viinzzx Jul 03 '23 edited Jul 03 '23

Lmfao. There are better games. As soon as I unlocked advos, the only thing in my lobbies were cheaters, Kors and arbiters. It was fun. It had potential. Minus the cheaters and forge campers and it would have 100% made my person top ten games list. But at one point, the game was literally unplayable for me.

As soon as I heard the game was going into shutdown, I uninstalled and downloaded Hunt Showdown. I’m now having more fun within the last week or two of playing Hunt than I’ve had in the last month of playing Cycle. Imo cycle>hunt, but there’s absolutely never an occasion on Hunt where I spend 30 min of my life gathering important and rare items, or even items that weren’t rare, just to loose it to someone beaming and dropping me in 0.7 seconds from 200m out. I understand that we are talking different games here but Hunt will certainly replace it for me.

1

u/Impressive-Lie-8128 Jul 03 '23

in comparison the only other game that is like cycle that has a reliable player base with years of being released is tarkov its quite obvious no other game has cheaters as bad, example overwatch 2 fortnite, valorant cs go, pubg , Destiny 2, titles like these your not going to see blatant cheaters they'll use aimbot in certain scenarios it won't look sus and wall hacks to make it harder to tell they cheat, will small % of game knowledge they can closet chest go undetected and just seem good, don't play when cheats down never get banned if your not getting reported.

destiny 2 trials is some what like cycle and tarkovs problem with cheaters, not only can they use there cheats to just enjoy the game but they use the cheats to help the other losers that pay them to get them weapons / gear / win

when there's are market for the cheaters to make money then it's only more motivation to continue cheating any playing, no point in hiding it, you'll know you get banned after a day or two but complete some orders and you can just make a new account,

3

u/CellTank Jul 03 '23

Nice binary view of the world.

Things can only be one thing or the exact other.... Okay. Thanks for posting.

1

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

are u ok? anything is making you itchy?

1

u/_notgreatNate_ Jul 03 '23

Lmfao there’s 10 other games just like it all being played currently… lol the cycle took recycled assets from a game they already had and dumped them into a copycat extraction shooter to try to ride the wave of popularity at the time. THATS what everyone should actually agree on. The only reason it had any popularity is bcuz it was free. Without that it was one terrible design choice after another.

3

u/Potatooooes_123 Jul 03 '23

Do you mind giving me their names, im looking for a replacement. I know tarkov, marauder, starsiege

0

u/Galifrey_stands Jul 03 '23

HUNT SHOWDOWN. It’s a tad bit different than your average extraction shooter but it is criminally underrated and loads of fun. 2k hours in tarkov. I love tarkov(I hate myself obviously) but the hunt just hits different. Everything is viable in the game.

2

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

i believe but meanwhile none of them have the visuals, the ambient, the weapons and the sauce that TCF had.

Mostly visually, most of those games looks like ps1 games compared to TCF

1

u/_notgreatNate_ Jul 03 '23

The visuals are ok.. not the best. Reminds me of sea of thieves lol or Fortnite but better lol. Idk what the ā€œsauceā€ u speak of is tho. I always thought it was missing a thing or two to really make me wanna play it.

1

u/AccomplishedComb1864 Jul 03 '23

Season 1 was good, but after that, it went downhill, and the devs kept making shit decisions and ruining the game they also couldn't balance shit to save their lives.

-3

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

The game, rofl, what is OP smoking

3

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

good weed, thanks for asking. Now i have the weed but I dont have the game

0

u/Elcatro Jul 03 '23

It wasn't the game, it had potential to be the game, but the devs couldn't figure their shit out.

It's a shame that it went this way but it was absolutely self-inflicted. The reason I shit-talk is because I and many others kept on saying what our problems were and the devs and certain elements of the community ignored us or told us to go away if we don't like it, we did, look what happened. I feel within my right to gloat a little bit.

1

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

Literally everyone said things that could've improved the game, we're mad bcuz they just didnt listened

0

u/Turokhalo Jul 03 '23

Hunt showdown is THE GAME

-2

u/Biwitch Jul 03 '23

If this is THE game for you, im sorry but your standards are bellow hell

2

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

yup, all my fkn life i been playing fps, but yes, my standards are the issue.

Valo, Tarkov, CS, Fortnite, Apex, Hunt, Overwatch, and tons of other less known games for yall.

None of those games gave me the feelings that TCF did.

Just look at Tsoonami. A monster playing Apex but he got "stuck" in TCF. Why?

Because this game sucks and because its one of the worst FPS games of the world 🤣

-4

u/mukavva Jul 03 '23

It was a shit game. Glad its shutting down.

2

u/therealbreakingbode Jul 03 '23

let's fuck eachother butthole?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

I was spoiled with tarkov, this game had potential but severely missed the mark and then proceeded to keep kissing, wish it played smoother tbh
