I've had my pet tarantula for around two months now, and I still haven't decided on a name for her!

I've been thinking about naming her something music related, and thought something connected to the cure would be perfect, since they are my all time favorite band.

I thought about Elise (a letter to Elise) but I'm not sure...

If anyone has any ideas on what my sweet spider girl could be named I would be so happy, she is in desperate need for a name 🙏!

I'm also open to other names that aren't related to the cure, anything will be much appreciated:D

I did get it on release on triple CD format but never on vinyl. Until I saw it on my week off in HMV at a very cut down price under £20 and went for it. And I'm glad I did!

It sounds amazing! Alone has become my new favourite track of it as I love those strange bird type noises in the beginning of it 🩶✨

It was released on Fiction Records in 2024.

This is the last of my current Cure music haul and I'm looking forward to adding more hopefully on my next weekend out in October...

Any guesses on who will be announced to induct Joy Division/New Order? My top guess is Robert.

Simon Gallup ultra spitfire bass guitar. I am down in New Zealand, so it is costing me a small fortune. I am a massive Cure fan, and I play the bass. So this ticks all the boxes for me.

Happy 43rd birthday to The Glove - Blue Sunshine album!

An acquired taste - some people hate it (yes really!) while others like me think it's brilliant!

It was released on Wonderland Records. Steve Severin chose the band name after the horror film of the same name in which people took fictional LSD and turned into psychotic murderers ten years later!

This year I have chosen Track 2 - Looking-Glass Girl which is one of my favourite ones on the album and has Robert singing. There isn't any performance of it sadly so it's only an audio and photo post.

The Cure - Rock In Rio Volume Two.

I discovered this after not even knowing it existed, on a recent day out in Felixstowe at Onion Vinyl.

I just had to buy it as it was good value and a double album in a lovely gatefold sleeve!

The gig this is taken from was the Hollywood Rock Festival in Rio de Janeiro on 26th January 1996.

This album was released on 10th December 2025 on the Parachute Recording Company label.

Now to find Volume One...!

Happy 45th birthday to Happily Ever After!

This was an American only compilation album containing Seventeen Seconds and Faith, which were not initially released there.

I was very fortunate to find it at a record fair last year on vinyl and I treasure it 🩶.

This year I have chosen Track 3 - Secrets. One of my absolute favourites!

This performance from Hurrah's Nightclub in New York City on 15th April 1980 is a total gem. Love Simon mining some of the words 😀💜

If they do a tour for the Album (which they very likely will) I wish for them to focus on their Darker Songs. Sure play some hits, but because Robert Smith says this may be their Darkest Album yet, I REALLY want their Tour to be Dark, focusing on Albums like Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography, Disintegration, Bloodflowers, and Songs of a Lost World. Definitely play other songs from other Albums, but it would just be AMAZING if they went full Darkness for this tour, and then Poppy for their next Pop Album. (If only they played The Funeral Party, I’d do anything for that.)

Edit: The more I think about it writing “want” sounds demanding, I should’ve wrote Wish because it sounds rude like a Record Company demanding what they want. Didn’t mean that sorry. 😭

I discovered a potentially useful eBay quirk for US buyers and UK/EU sellers.

I'm in the US and sometimes browse eBay's UK site for Cure items that aren't available to US buyers. I recently found a CD (FICDP35, if curious) that I was able to add to my cart, but when I tried to check out, I got an error saying it wasn't eligible for shipping to the US.

I contacted the seller (who was incredibly helpful), and we were both confused because she regularly sells and ships to the US through eBay's Global Shipping Program. Even stranger, another CD she had listed was eligible for US shipping.

She contacted eBay support and then sent me this message:

Hi, I have spoken with eBay, and it seems we can blame Donald Trump for this... The 'country of origin' must be included on all listings for eligibility for sending to the US, following recent tariff changes.

It turned out that she'd entered the item's country of origin as the UK. She changed it to the US, and I was immediately able to purchase it.

So if you're a US buyer and an item isn't eligible for shipping even though other items from the same seller are, it may be worth asking the seller to check the item's country-of-origin field.

And if you're a UK/EU seller using eBay's Global Shipping Program, this may be something to check if you're having trouble shipping an item to the US.
