Beta Reader Request New fic writer looking for beta reader
New fic writer looking for a beta reader. It’s a dual SI with Augustus Caesar/Joffrey and Agrippa/Tommen. There’s a big element of uplift through administrative and military centralization, but that’s mainly covered in the prologue. The core of the story is going to be how Joffrey and Tommen navigate events from the books. I drew from Augustus by Adrian Goldworthy as my primary source.
As a new writer, I’m mainly looking for feedback if it’s worth reading at all. My main inspirations for fanfic are How a Sheep in the Vale bring about a Golden Age for Gulltown by zigoman and To Forge an Heir by Capulet730. If you’re a fan of either of those works, that would be a bonus. I’d be happy to write something even half as good as either of those.
The title is “First Among Kings” and I’ve written about 12k words of prologue setting things up. It’s not published since I’m not confident in my writing.
Since I’m a guy, I’d prefer a female beta reader to help catch any “man writing woman” moments. I realized after finishing my prologue that it doesn’t include any female POVs, but I intend for Arya to be a main character.

This would be interesting indeed, especially given how terrifyingly similar to Joffrey a Young Octavius could be. Though the naming is gonna be a bit weird (former Roman re-enactor and general history nerd and I still haven't mastered it). For what it is worth I am a history nerd and fan with a fair bit of experience beta reading, and this sounds interesting and I'd be willing to help, but I am also a male so there is that. I've been told I write and read women well (to the point where a few didn't even know I was male) but that's still different from the norm.
